It's National Rubber Ducky Day, Really!

Pep and Ducky went for a spin to celebrate National Rubber Ducky Day

We love celebrations in Buttercupland. We celebrate holidays and we celebrate days dedicated to a wide range of foods and events. We missed National Spaghetti Day on January 4 and National Bubble Bath Day on January 8. We almost missed National Rubber Ducky Day -- today! -- but a devoted friend of Buttercupland alerted me and we still had time to let our favorite ducky know how much we appreciate him.

I'm sad I missed Clean Off Your Desk Day on Monday, but will use the inspiration to clean off my desk tomorrow. I started the year with a neat desk, but not quite two weeks later my desk needs straightening up big time. National Bagel Day is Saturday and I may make a stop at my favorite local bagel store in celebration. It may be just warm enough to sit outside and enjoy my bagel and coffee. There are any number of fun days later this month and we'll be doing a few more celebrations.

It's actually been a busy few days. I've been out walking -- my goal is at least two miles every day -- and "been" to three great book events. I also enjoyed a fun baby shower via Zoom on Saturday. The organizers did a great job and found a game website we could all enjoy (just as though we were all together in person) and played music. What has been on your calendar?

As ever, thanks for visiting and take good care.

I love the Pep & Ducky photo! You sure know how to have fun! We have not had anything going on as fun as you, both of us being high risk for Covid. Seems the most we do is Zoom church and the drug store.

Thanks for telling me about the shower. My goodness, Ms. D's smile and laugh are so nice to see in the middle of winter. Glad you are getting out and about! I can't wait until clean my desk day, next year. hee hee

I missed National Clean Your Desk also. I will just have to put that on my calendar for next year. A friend of mine wrote yesterday that it was Dress Up Your Pet Day. She sent in a picture of her Augie The Great dressed in his robe and crown to a local station and they showed it on the air. He was a boost for my day.

I have started my walking also. After a few days, my foot swelled up and hurt. It is better now and I am back to walking but have lowered my goals for awhile.

I too always try and celebrate every day. It's seems there is a holiday every day of the year. And life is to short to be anything but happy. The only exercising I'm doing this days is in the grocery store. We've had a few sunny days here when I could have gone for a walk ouwtside, but I drove to the grocery store instead. Good to see your cute rubber ducky. They are fun and fun is a good thing !

You are staying very busy, and safely so, which is wonderful! Squeak squeak Happy Rubber Ducky day! Remember that old song, "Convoy"? The main trucker's CB handle was "Rubber Duck." For some reason that always made me laugh.

I attended my first ever book party for Usbourne Books. Spent a bit on books for granddaughters but it started at 8:30 pm (mothers had to put their kiddies to bed first I guess) and being on the computer that late meant I had a hard time getting to sleep. Won't do it again but will probably buy books from friend's daughter that way going forward.

It's always fun to have something to celebrate! Especially spaghetti (will have to put that on my calendar for next year) and I'm glad not to miss National Bagel Day. I need a weekly Clean Off Your Desk Day.
