...And Forever in Peace May You Wave

The American flag, with New York Harbor in the background

I learned a lot of patriotic music growing up and this song seemed just the right one to feature with my photograph of the American flag. My great wish for America on its birthday is the one in the title. May our flag fly over a country -- and a world -- at peace forever.

Have a Wonderful Fourth of July!

I sang in our high school choir and played in the band, too. In the band especially, it seems we played every patriotic song every written. It was a wonderful feeling being a part of that wonderful music and feeling the base drums reverberate as we played the woodwinds. It was a bit of a science lesson feeling how sound waves from percussion could actually be felt.
