Something to Chuckle About

I found this cartoon on Pinterest and definitely chuckled when I saw it.

Something I'm not chuckling about is my inability to finish one book in 2013. Yes, I have not finished reading one book and it's almost the third month of the year. I'm both horrifed and amazed by this. I'm still treading through the Finnish mystery novel I started early in January and I've read two chapters in the book we are reading for next month's book club meeting, "Canada" by Richard Ford. I've read through a few chapters here and there of other books, some of the New York Times and an infinite number of work email and memos. This has seriously impacted my goal of posting a book review every week here. I recommit to finishing one book in March and posting a review. If anyone would like to share their thoughts on something you've read and enjoyed, please let me know. Guest bloggers always welcome.

I'm not sure where my ability to concentrate went, but if you run into, please send it home. Concentration, you are sorely missed!

Wishes for a happy Wednesday!

Could it possibly be because you are very very busy?

I'm reading The Book Thief for the first time; I know, I'm slow jumping on the bandwagon!

Thanks for the SMILES here this morning. That is a cute joke and one I'd not seen before. I'm always reading. Even when I worked I'd get through a book or 2 each week. The free books for the Kindle are often pretty good, but I have picked a few bad ones. Being as they are free I can't complain. It's a matter of habit for me to read. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday. More snow is on its way for us today.

Cute cartoon joke. I have a pile of books waiting to be read, this year is going by so quickly.

Love that cartoon!

I finally completed Debbie Macomber's book "One Simple Act," and I am to give an in-depth review of it to a UMW Circle on this coming Monday.

I am almost done with "The Man Who Moved a Mountain" by Richard Davis. This is the second time I have read it in two years. It's a phenomenal biography about the Rev Bob Childress who was an instrument for God in the Appalachian Mountains. It is amazing what one person can do who is truly seeking to do God's will. Also, I have read a couple of Dan Walsh's fictional books as well as Karen Kingsbury's "Tuesday Morning" Series. In addition, I read a chapter here and there about Dewey, the Library Cat.
Before I go to sleep, I read to relax.

I have a chronic problem with not being able to finish reading books.
I get just so far into it and my interest flags so I put it aside and never get back to it. This usually happens if the author has the protagonist doing something really stupid. It offends my sensibilities and makes the book seem too trivial to bother with!

Oh that was funny and as far as your ability to concentrate, maybe it was removed along with the appendix...snort. I finished reading "The Kitchen House" for bookclub, missed the discussion, probably would have appreciated it more with some discussion. Not the best I have read. Now reading "The Lost Wife". Will report later.

Much of my "sit still" time so far this winter has been spent crocheting. I do have a book that just arrived in the mail about climbing Mt Everest, that i need to get read.
