Audrey Hepburn immediately comes to mind.
In the comments for yesterday's post about Colin Firth my dear friend, Sheilagh, asked about female movie stars. About six seconds after I began thinking Audrey Hepburn's face came to mind. Some of my favorites of her films are "The Nun's Story," "Breakfast at Tiffany's," and my very favorite, "Roman Holiday." Her talent was tremendous and her beauty was both obvious and within. She was devoted to UNICEF, as she and her family had received aid after World War II living in the Netherlands. I think this photo of her is as lovely as any picture of her in her youth.
Sheilagh, thanks for the question. I've so enjoyed looking at photos and remembering movies and actors I admire. This has been so much fun that I'll be sure to do it again. Deborah Kerr is right in line. Who are your favorite woman movie stars? Any other Audrey Hepburn fans in Buttercupland?
I leave you with this beautiful quote, my beautiful friends!

I'm an Audrey fan, too. I also loved Deborah Kerr in An Affair to Remember ... What a story! I'm not sure I've seen her in anything else though.
My best friend is an Audrey nut. Crazy about her. Me, not so much. Though I have seen Breakfast at Tiffany's a zillion times. And Roman Holiday. Will have to check out The Nun's story, never saw it.
Audrey Hepburn had such sweetness and dignity about her. My very first movie star crush was Alan Ladd--and that was a very long time ago!
I love Audrey Hepburn too. My niece lives beside Piedmont Park in Atlanta and we got to view Breakfast @ Tiffany's in the park one summer. It was a lovely setting.
She was a wonderful actress. Loved her in all of her movies.

I love them both too. We have a set of Audrey's movies. I'm such a fan of old movies! I'd choose them over new movies any day. I love that quote too. I should pin it to my refrigerator :)
