My Perfect Word for 2012

I love to read and for cozy fiction Debbie Macomber is a great favorite. I subscribe to her e-newsletter and noted that she has a new book of non-fiction coming out in January, "One Perfect Word." In it she writes about choosing one word to be her focus in the new year and how that word can be transformative. Some of the words mentioned are trust, surrender and prayer. She asked her readers to choose a word for 2012 and let her know the choice.

I've got some choices in mind, but want to take this week to carefully consider my word for 2012. I'm leaning to "courage," but will pray on it. What would you choose for your word for 2012?

Ooooo, this is very interesting! I'm not sure what my word would be...... I have been praying about being a person of integrity and have started to look up exactly what this means. So my word for 'today' would be integrity. I guess you could have one word each month as well? Thanks for sharing this - it's very thought provoking! Whatever word you choose, I hope you will be completely blessed by the meaning of it! Have a great new year.

Our future here at my home is uncertain with medical problems looming big for both my husband and myself. So my word for 2012 would be HOPE.

I plan to cherrish every day of 2012 as Rocky learns new things about his world! Remind me of this when he is crawling Buttercup!

*Favorite book by her is the Shop on Blossom Street* It touched me when it needed too, and now has a WHOLE new meaning! If you've read it you know what I mean...if you haven't...you should :)

I'm leaning toward the word "surmount"--like in "get over yourself! I get mired down in all the things I'm not, all the things I will never be and the sorrows of past failures. My brain needs a big breath of fresh air.

I hope it gets it.

For 2011 I chose a word for the year, Shine.
Jesus wants us to let our light shine for Him, and as a writer, I want my words to shine.
I didn't select my 2012 word yet; maybe use shine again.
Best wishes on you choosing your perfect word.

I enjoy Ms. Macomber's books also! I just posted on my word for 2012 - the gift of time.

I'll be anxious to check back and see which word you choose. I wish you a very happy new year.

I did see that new book of hers was coming out. I like the idea of choosing a word for the year. I'll have to think about what I would choose. It hardly seems possible 2011 is going to be done and over with in just a few days.

How funny you should mention this - my word is SAVOR. I want to stay in the present, to SAVOR all that life has to offer - to extract and SAVOR the joy that is available.
