My enforced leisure of the last few weeks has given me time to be a more active citizen of Blogland -- and it's been great. I've enjoyed blogging when I'm not bleary-eyed at midnight. I've enjoyed commenting and reading blogs often in the same day that they're written. My reader is very manageable now and that is a great feeling.
I've also enjoyed seeing what I call "spiffy" blogs. Headers and footers that match and great type. There are some beautiful blogs out there and I salute them all. I think of my blog as a "loving hands at home" blog. It's made with lots of love, but it's not very polished. I went to a very interesting session at BlogHer and one of the topics was having a well-designed header. It's been on my mind for the last month and now I'm asking for your help. No, it's not a "Design Buttercup a New Header," though it's a fun idea. Do any of you do blog design or have you worked with anyone to spiff (not sure if this is a word!) your blog? I know graphics and website work are not my talents. I'm still having trouble with Pinterest... But I am grateful for suggestions of reasonably inexpensive designers who I could work with.

The only thing I know how to do is add pictures and that is usually what my header consists of. I know lots are into graphic so hopefully you'll find someone to help. Meanwhile just place a photo in your headers and footers. I know you have some really nice ones.
I just use cutest blog on the block. Also, NO, "Rocky" doesn't have a sock monkey :)
I wish I did know how to do that stuff, but sadly I don't have a clue! Glad you're continuing to feel better!
You will be able to find someone around here who can help with your web work and graphics, but unfortunately it's not me. Don't know a thing about it. I'm a photographer for sport and if you note, never change my header picture. I did it once and that's enough for me. LOL Boring, I know. Good luck with your changes.
Sometimes you can go to the internet and just blog - blog backgrounds???
I like yours though.

My daughter did mine. We had all the kids draw pics and then she chose the one my 8-year-old drew to become our header. I think it's pretty cool...

I wish I knew more about how to design and create here in blogger but I don't! Simple is all I can do! Have a blessed day my friend, HUGS!
I know there are blog designers who will spiff up a blog for a fee, but I never used one. I'd love a blog do-over by a professional, myself, as I am always afraid to play around too much with my present format. I'd like a header that stretches across my page and not be square like the one I made in Picasa. I keep thinking I'll learn to do one myself someday. Good luck --I hope someone can give you a makeover for free!
I had my daughter make my header, she loves the plates I used to design at a ceramic co. we had and she used the plate with some flowers. Maybe the computer savvy kids, or someone in your family might like to?! Thank you so much for your wonderful visit and lovely comment. Hugs, FABBY
It is wonderful to get a chance to relax and do the things you enjoy. However, I am the last one to give out design ideas. I would like to do more with my blog - - but am not comfortable just experimenting. Plus, I do better learning with one on one tutoring.
