Inquiring Minds Want to Know...

What's Your Favorite Summer Treat?

Although the heat has broken in New York, these few hot days this week were only a little taste of the months to come. On Thursday afternoon I had a realization that the office was hot and that the air conditioning had been adjusted to avoid a power outage. I needed something to cool down. We have a little shop on the first floor of our building and I went down to see what I could find, hoping that they had popsicles. No popsicles, but I did find a little cup of lemon ice, which was so refreshing.

What's your treat of summer? I love both iced coffee and lemonade and all kinds of icy treats, soft ice cream, lemon ice and popsicles. I am especially smitten with creamsicles.

Hope you're having a great weekend! I'm off to my Saturday surprise.

I love to pour lemonade over frozen lemonade! Blogger is having problems and if you would change your comments setting to pop-up comment form, it would be easier to leave comments. THX

Definitely ice cream! And LOTS of it! I found a new flavor made by Turkey Hill called Coconut Almond Fudge. I can't stop eating it!

too many to choose just one
here's the list in no particular order

fresh juicy fruit from the farmer's market (tomatoes included)

lemonade from the new tech lemonade stand on the corner near work- half the sugar please

hazelnut gelato from the Italian Bakery

an ice cold beer at the stadium -to wash down the hot dog

a brown bonnet from the ice cream truck

And then there's always the Lemon Ice King of Corona

I'm ALL about ice coffee -- straight up, latte, ....or sometimes, a little "irish" thrown in for good measure :)

Iced-tea, iced-coffee and water with lemon. But... I'd really rather not have temps above 80 :)

I came back to say someone had shared with me about the comment problem and how to avoid it - so I thought I would pass it along - I'm happy it is working now.

By coming back, I am now craving the coconut almond fudge ice cream mentioned by your second visitor!!!!!!

WoW it worked, thank you Mildred, I haven't been able to post comments for weeks.

I am an ice cream fan during summer, I don't do fizzy drinks. I like milkshakes but they are a special treat.

Lack of sufficient air conditioning can certainly cause you to look for something to help cool down! I keep a big supply of frozen fruit bars and popsicles that really help. Lemon ice does sound refreshing!

How about Gelato? Yum! My office can get warm. I found a small fan - - very small - - but it puts out a LOT of cool air. It was less than $10. I have definitely gotten my money's worth already.

Oh, Carol, this heat has been the pits ... we got rain today. Love your merry go round & NYC photos. If you were here we'd be enjoying fresh made frozen lemonade ice drinks, cherry vanilla bordeaux ice cream & lots of chatting about your travels.

Tuesday Harold has heart surgery. Not looking forward to this one bit.

Have a beautiful week, my special friend.
