Elvis' 75th Birthday Banner
There is an all-Elvis Sirius channel and we got to meet the D.J., George Klein.
The actual house, "Graceland."
The first floor and basement are open to the public and perfectly preserved.

We spent a long afternoon at Graceland and I loved it. It brought back so many memories of my teen years and they were all sweet. My best friend in junior high loved Elvis and we saw every Elvis movie released and some -- I'm thinking of "Blue Hawaii" -- several times.
My only disappointment, and it's a tiny, tiny one, was that I didn't get to hear my favorite Elvis song, "Can't Help Falling in Love," while I was at Graceland. But I'm listening to it now and I am happy!
Elvis fans -- and I know there are definitely some out in Blogland -- what's your favorite Elvis song?

Oh I like same as you, but also a good dancing one, "Blue Suade Shoe". There are several more. When we used to have a piano, we had a big book with all of his music in it and I could sit and play his songs for hours. Like you, I wish I would have made a trip to see a live show. Glad you got to finally go there. Someday I will too! Thanks for the peek!
I am definately an Elvis fan and I am a slight shade of green after reading about your visit to Graceland.
As for a favourite song, that is a hard one, I love so many, Wooden Heart has a special place in my heart. I wilm have to get back to you with a list...lol. Glad you had got to tick off another wish list destination.
Thank you for your lovely comments about Ralph and myself, it was such a JOY to meet you. Can't wait to repeat meeting, over this side of the pond:)

I was and still am a fan. His music just never gets old for me. Love Me Tender is my favorite. When I was a teen we'd go to the theater to see is movies and just scream with excitement...I never got to see a concert, but will never forget how great he was.
So glad you finally got to Graceland. Living in Tennessee, it isn't such a huge deal and I've been several times. Didn't ever see him in concert, but my husband saw him in Knoxville in 1973. I love most of his songs, but two of my favorites are Suspicious Minds and In The Ghetto. The latter was one of his last and a real downer, but for some reason, it just always had my attention! Did you graduate from MTSU?
Doug said to tell you his favorite Elvis song is "Heartbreak Hotel" b/c at his first boy scout jamboree his little friend sung this song unplanned and they even one first place! Boy, that was a lot of years ago!
Hugs,

Oh, my, I love so many of them and am a diehard Elvis fan. I would say Love Me Tender is very dear to my heart.
Glad you had such a nice trip.
I loved Elvis - I really need to go there some time. sandie
What a grand adventure! I'd be itching to sneak upstairs!
In all honesty, I was more into the Beatles and "British Invasion." Only lately, do I listen -- and appreciate Elvia' music. My fav? Hands down, "It's Now or Never."
Can't Help Falling in Love...
That's my favorite, too.
Can't say that I am actually a "fan" but I do enjoy listneing to soem of his songs fav. I think is "Love me tender" Great that you enjoyed the visit...and that all went well, Sometimes when one has waited to see somehwer for so long it can be a disapointment but I have to say I have never heard anyone say that of a visit to Gracelands.
Love Sybil x
How awesome! I would like to go there someday. I think that's my favorite song too, although there are so many good ones, it's almost too hard to pick.
We had sooooo much when we went to Graceland several years ago. What a beautiful place.
My song is "Teddy Bear."
Happy Friday.
Melinda
