Blue Sky, Smiling at Me...

...Nothing but blue sky do I see.

I feel that I take the same pictures every year and will post the same pictures two years in a row...but the majesty and beauty of this magnificent river and the awesome sky above thrill me more each year.

The great gift of this visit to Jess and K. was time. I never felt rushed. Our activities were simple and lovely -- reading books, chatting, watching a movie, a trip to the Farmer's Market, several visits with K's sister, brother-in-law and niece. I finished "Unaccustomed Earth" by Jhumpa Lahiri, a wonderful collection of short stories, by the author of a favorite novel, "The Namesake." Most of our time was spent with the river as our backdrop, the river and the most beautiful blue skies. I feel very fortunate for the friendship that enables this trip every year and for all that we share.

My only disappointment is my technological ineptitude. I did great with the Flip Video camera during my visit, thanks to Jess' patient instruction. I didn't do so well when I got home and tried to load the little videos. I spent at least an hour last night -- with no success -- and kept freezing my computer. I'm going to give it another try over the weekend and I hope to share a video with you next week. If my next try isn't successful, I will have to wait until my friend's eleven year-old has some free time.

How my dear blog friends had a great weekend and have a great week!

Ah. I'm peaceful just looking at the pictures! (And PS: Sometimes I ask my second graders for technical advice and they know the answers!)

Really nice pictures. I find that I take the same picture when I hike the same trail two years in a row.

BTW... I was asking my grandson and nephew how to work my new ipod touch. So you're not alone.

Second blog in a row I've read tonight that featured beautiful skies.

How anyone is able to look at the sky and not be convinced there is a God, I'll never know.

Awesome!

It may not be you freezing the computer, you may need an update on the Flips software.

Ooooh ... I'm so drawn to this scene; the lazy (seemingly) sailboats. A gift, for sure!
