A Message from the Buttercupland Department of Health: Love Your Heart

Miss Fluffy, rocking it in red, and her beloved Mr. Paws

The always chic Miss Fluffy is always the lady in red and she rocks it every day. But we're featuring Miss Fluffy and her true love, Mr. Paws to share a message from the Buttercupland Department of Health and the American Heart Association.

Be Good to Your Heart!

Today is National Wear Red Day and Miss Fluffy is here to raise awareness about coronary disease and women. It's not our usual upbeat topic, but one that's critical to keep us all healthy and hardy. Cardiovascular diseases -- heart disease and strokes -- are the number one cause of death in women. It's a cause very close to me and the cause of both of my parents' deaths. In the last month I realized that my mother had two heart attacks when she had just turned 71 -- my age. It was sobering, but also a great  reason to remember to take good care of my heart. There's lots of good information which you can find via the link to the Heart Association's website about keeping your heart and you healthy.

There's one more day to stop by the Buttercupland thirteenth birthday post and enter the birthday giveaway. Two readers will each win a copy of an inspirational romance by Jill Lynn, a dear friend of Buttercupland. Please stop by and join the celebration.

We had the forecast of an ice storm for tomorrow, but (fingers crossed) it may actually be sunny. I kept my plans light thinking it would be an ice rink outside, but if it's sunny I'm going to do a little field trip. I've been staying close to home and it would be fun to branch out. What are your weekend plans?

As ever, thanks for visiting and love your heart!
