Pink Saturday Goes to White Flower Farm

The most beautiful day at White Flower Farm, Litchfield, CT

I had the a wonderful day at the renowned source of flowers, White Flower Farm. Even though I don't have a garden -- or even a green thumb -- I do love flowers, visiting gardens and reading the White Flower catalog. White Flower Farm isn't far from New York City or from where I grew up in Connecticut, but somehow I've never been there and it's been on my "to-visit" list forever.

As part of my on-going birthday celebration finally I visited, what must be, one of the prettiest places I've ever been. The day was cloudy to start with, but most of the time during our visit the sun was out and I had no worries about slipping and sliding while I was enjoying the flowers and scenery.

One of the flowers I am totally enamored of is hydrangea and saw one of the most beautiful collection of them ever this afternoon. I couldn't choose a favorite, but since this is a Pink Saturday post, I'm leaning to the bright pink ones.

I don't think I've ever seen a stone fence I didn't love.
No exception here.

I loved everything about White Flower Farm,
the flowers, the people working there and the sky and scenery.

One of the staff strongly suggested we visit the begonia greenhouse. I couldn't quite fathom the depth of her enthusiasm until we got there and then it became totally understandable. I thought of including a few begonia photographs in this post and decided that the begonias deserved a post of their own and they will star in next week's Pink Saturday post.

It's been a whirl of a week and it's time to get back to eating salads, visiting the gym and catching up on blog posts and thank you notes. What's your plan for this week?

My first thank you note for this week is for all of the sweet wishes from my dear Buttercupland family. It was a great birthday and I'm feeling blessed and grateful for all that this year has to offer.

As ever, thanks for visiting and hugs and love!

You picked a wonderful treat for yourself, I would like to visit there, and recently purchased from their catalog. My sister-in-law owned the John Steele Bookshop in Litchfield so I have visited there, but not the farm.

that is definitely a beautiful place . Glad you had such good weather. It's been hard to find a dry day here lately, Today it's raining again. My daughter has some lovely hydrangeas but they are not pink. I think I'll be taking some home with me when I go. Looking forward to seeing the begonias . Glad you had a happy Birthday !

How do I not know about this place?! I must pay a visit in the near future - it's not far at all from us here in New Haven!

Hydrangeas are my favorite flowers! I love them fresh, dried - any way I can get them!

Your photos are lovely - and certainly make the place an enticing destination - thanks for sharing them.

Thank you for jogging my memory. I have ordered from White Flower Farm in the past when we lived in our house in MD. I recently remembered buy huge hostas from a catalog but couldn't come up with the name. I do believe it was White Flower Farm. What a beautiful place to visit.
