On the Streets (Near) Where I Live Pink Saturday

I met this cutie during today's walk. Loved the pink accessories.

After two days of snow I took full advantage of yesterday's sunshine. It wasn't warm out, but it was sunny and the sidewalks were clear. I bundled up and met my friend, Jane and her cute daughter, Hannah, and we set out to enjoy the sun and look out for pictures for this Pink Saturday post.

One of the first sights that caught my eye were these pink and purple wrapped bulbs.

We all stopped to admire this Valentine window with its cute treasures.

It might as well have been spring at one of my favorite neighborhood stores, Magpie.

So enjoyed our outside dining at Harvest  Kitchen on Columbus Avenue

Our walking got us hungry and after a couple of miles we stopped for lunch. New York City has indoor dining again, but we chose to eat in the out of doors section. I've eaten a number of meals in the middle of the street, but it still feels very strange. There was good ventilation, but this restaurant was one of the coziest I've eaten at. The temperature yesterday was thirty -five degrees, but thanks to the heaters it was comfortable and I even unzipped my coat.

We had several discoveries during our adventure. There's a new "Dessertery" about to open that will feature ice cream and macarons. We studied the menu at a Vietnamese sandwich shop and put it on our list for a future lunch. We also added a new Chinese dumpling restaurant to our list of places to try.

We've got relatively warm weather -- forty degrees and up -- predicted for this week and I'm so looking forward to getting in my miles without being dressed for a trek across the tundra. What are your plans for the week?

As ever, thanks for visiting and take good care.

I love window shopping in New York! And those bulbs...the wrappings are prettier than the flowers!

Great Pink Saturday shots. I can only imagine how weird it must feel sitting out in the middle of the street to eat. It's great that you have that option. The new places to try sound delicious!

Lovely that you and your friend can meet and walk.

I'd still not want inside dining... Being outside, is a sure way to have plenty of ventilation. And that I believe, is a key to safety. From reading logical sites, which I have come to trust.

But then, for years, my husband and I have not "eaten-out" during Flu Season, so this is nothing different. And I have insisted that we wear masks, in grocery store, for years. In Flu Season.

Then, we looked out of place. Now, we are "In Style." LOL!!!!

Our doctor's group has had sites set up, to offer vaccine, when available. They have not yet said, they have it. There is a pharmacy, which you can go to. But we (in our 80's) do not feel like standing in line, inside a store, to get it.

Plans for the week: getting first Covid vaccination. Tuesday is the day!
I'm envious of your dumpling shop. I wonder if they will have soup dumplings? First had those in Shanghai and loved them. No chance of having them here in NH.

We don't have any restaurants like yours in my area. It looks like a fun place to stop for a meal. Those potted flowers really are beautiful. Enjoy your jaunts, hugs, Edna B.

Despite all that Covid has done to the restaurant business, it is wonderful to see how innovative many have become.

How I love to go along on your walks. Your photos are beautiful. Thank you so much for following my new blog. I also want to share that my sweet sister, Karen, that you so kindly followed is now totally blind. I am hoping she will relocated to our new home in the near future. John is a little better now with meds and we are downsizing again. Sending my love to you . Have a nice night, mildred
