Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Saturday

It's time for this week's Pink Saturday post. While the look is still Pretty-in-Pink, the focus is on a serious topic, Breast Cancer Awareness. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I like to think of this as breast cancer awareness and prayers for a cure month.

During a visit to Macy's last week I found the ultimate Pretty-in-Pink sneakers, complete with pink ribbons. They are part of a collection that benefits Christina Applegate's Right Action for Women. This group helps provide screening assistance to women who are at increased risk for breast cancer.

I loved the look of these running shoes, as well as the knowledge that a donation will be made to a great cause. Alas, they didn't fit my complicated feet.

Though they are not part of the breast cancer awareness program I liked the look of these sneakers, too.

Pretty in pink and orange, too.

The high point of this weekend has been seeing Love Letters with Carol Burnett and Brian Dennehy. It was sweet, touching and sad and I enjoyed it a lot. Each month the cast changes and next month Alan Alda and Candice Bergen are featured. I'd love to see how they interpret the parts and will be on the lookout for discount tickets. Yes, I liked it that much.

Next month, Alan Alda and Candice Bergen

Wishing my Canadian friends a very happy Thanksgiving and wishes, too, for everyone in America enjoying a long weekend.

As always thanks for visiting and take good care.

You found some pretty pink shoes! I like items that go for the good, too.

The play sounds great! I admire Carol Burnett so much.

LOVE the shoes you showcased. I have a pair of Easy Spirit Riptides in hot pink to bring awareness to breast cancer. Have my tickets to see Love Letters in the spring with the touring company coming here. I think it's Hal Linden and Barbara Eden. Getting excited.

I have a pair of hot pink workout shoes, but I think all the shoes you pictured would suit me. I really hope we will find a cure for breast cancer... the sooner the better!
I can only imagine how great it was to see "Love Letters". I hope you find discount tickets to see it next month too!
Have a great week.
Hugs,
Lauren

Sounds like you really had a great weekend there. It would be nice to see those stars preform in person. I'm not sure I could wear those very colorful shoes but they are eye catching and the cause is beneficial for sure.

Oh the Joys you must have living in NYC --and getting to enjoy shows like "Love Letters"... How special is that...Love both Carol Burnett and Brian Dennehy... I'd loved to have been there with you... AND--I'd want to go back next month to see Alan Alda and Candice Bergen...

Let's all remember to wear Pink --and be aware of Breast Cancer. I lost a good friend to that horrible disease.

Hugs,
Betsy

Dear Carol, I subscribe to the news magazine "The Week," and in the October 3rd issue they reviewed the play you saw. It starred Mia Farrow and Brian Dennehy. The reviewer--Charles Isherwood in the New York Times-- said that Farrow "proves 'utterly extraordinary.'" I'd so like to see it with Farrow or Burnett or Bergen. I understand from the review that at some point Martin Sheen will be taking the man's role. Peace.
