It's Party Week and You're Invited!

After trudging through this getting to the subway to work...

And this getting out of the subway near the office...

I've never seen so much snow inside a subway station

I've decided it's time to forget the snow, the cold and the wind. It's time to party! This is the week leading to New Year's and we can party all week. I've redecorated Buttercupland in an 80s retro disco look and I'm thinking of wearing a silver cocktail dress. I don't own one, so grey sweat pants may have to do, but in Blogland we can be festive, whether we're in silver dresses or sweatpants.

This is party week in Buttercupland. I've got the decorations, but I'm not sure about what to serve. I'm looking for suggestions of favorite party foods, and remember, there are no calories in Buttercupland. Join the party, friends, you're all invited!

Holy cow! I remember snow in the subways but I never remember seeing SO MUCH down there! I remember when I'd walk down the stairs and DID see some snow down there, I was always like, "Oh God!" because you'd just think that once you got down the stairs you were safe! LOL! Well, my heart goes out to you - been there, done that. BUT, I am still jealous and do MISS it a little! Ha-ha! ;)
Best,
Gloria

P.S. I forgot! Favorite party foods: little pigs in a blanket, chicken fingers, and anything in those boxes of frozen appetizers that I used to get in the store (potato puffs, little meat triangles, cheddar puffs, etc.)

Sounds like fun! I can bring some of the baking I've still got from Christmas: Nanaimo bars, shortbread, fudge... And maybe some asparagas spears wrapped in proscutto - delicious!

Oh Buttercup Sweetie...
You have really outdone yourself in Buttercup Land. I do so love it. It is definitely you sweet one.

Yes you should definitely wear the grey sweats and just add a little sign describing what you are wearing, remember we are in Buttercup Land.

I think we should have some of the pineapple millionaire's pie. That has always been my favorite. I love the pineapple and the richness of the pecans along with. Yep that is what I would bring. I love it.

I can't believe that you had to trudge in the cold deep snow to get to work. They should have called it all a disaster and made everyone stay at home. My gosh how could you even walk in it? Look at all the snow even down in the subway. WOW. I would not be a happy camper at all.

Have a beautiful evening sweet one. Stay inside where it is warm and toasty.

Many hugs and SO much love, Sherry

I think every one should have the week off between Christmas and New Years. Too bad you had to go out in that snow. I'm happy to not have to do that any longer. It is wonderful. I'll be partying with you ...sweats and all. I've lined up my outfits for every day through New Years and they all sparkle in some fashion or the other. Would you believe I do have some gray sweats with rhinestones on them. Great Idea!

Hi Buttercup! I saw your comment on Cuisine Kathleen's blog and had to come over and say hello to another NYC blogger. I live in Brooklyn and we got walloped with over two feet of snow. That won't stop the new Year's Eve partying, however. I have my champagne cooling!

Snow IN the subway! You deserve a party.
We usually have barbeque in Texas. And chips with salsa/queso.
But if it's snowing at your party, I'll take hot chocolate!

Hey there Buttercup,

I love your positive energy. Keep it UP!

Thanks for your visit to my little house. Actually, I live in Maine in a cottage (what was once the Miles' Fresh Air Camp) at Christmas Cove. During the winter we are at our little Spanish revival home in San Luis Obispo. So you get the perspective of two portions of the world through my eyes.

Let's keep in touch and happy new year to you and yours,

I can't believe all of that snow. You are made of braver stuff than I am. Here in So. CA we fall apart in the rain.

Thank you for another view of NYC. Try to keep warm. Happy New Year

Oh my gosh - that is a LOT of snow! It never snows here in SoCal, although it is pouring rain again today. LOL I wanna come to your disco party, and eat meatballs in sweet and sour sauce!
