99 Degrees Won't Stop Me

I'm glad I didn't know it was 99 degrees today. If I had known I might have sat on the couch with a good book and iced coffee in front of the air conditioner and I would have missed the first day of the Freedom Challenge. I did have an inkling it was going to be hot and I was out of the house around 9:00 am for a walk in the neighborhood. I got in my half mile and even ran into a friend. I took my camera along so I could share a few neighborhood sites that I encountered on my walk.

My favorite neighborhood fruit and veggie stand

Sidewalk cafe with some of the best pastries in New York

I had lunch in Chinatown in the afternoon. I joined a friend who had an appointment downtown and we ate on Mott Street. I got in another half mile of walking during my visit downtown.

So glad to have met my first day's goals. Thanks all, for the encouragement and for the good advice about yoga and exercise. Couldn't do it without my blog buddies!

I'm debating if I want to go walking in the morning or not. The 90's keep me in the a/c most of the time. I'm hoping to get out before it gets too hot. Tuesday is supposed to be even hotter here than Monday was. I sure do give you credit for walking in the heat, but be careful. At least you had a nice lunch and probably got to cool off then.

Hi Buttercup Sweetie...
We are on a stroll today. I LOVE this outside market and I can truly see why it is one of your favorites. It would be mine too. I love the baskets they have hanging, and the long line of fresh veggies and fruits. OMG, to die for.

I am smiling, as I can just see you marching along on your stroll. I have walked with you, so I know how fast you move. You are a walker and a talker. I love it. We shared so many fun memories together.

The sidewalk cafe looks like so much fun. I have never been to one, and with my allergies now, I doubt I will ever be able to go one here in Phoenix. We are the dust bowl of the valley. I cough just when someone walks through the front door now. I feel like the girl who has been living her life in a plastic bubble for 2 1/2 months. What a deal. I am ready to pop that bubble. Keep you fingers crossed for Friday when I go to the Doctor. I want a release.

Now Chinatown would be fun. How exciting that is. I would love to see closer pics of the shops. Oh my gosh, is there any place that does NOT have a McDonald's there? I can pass on the Big Mac, but if the fries are fresh, oh gosh give me an order with some Ranch Dressing.

Thank you for taking me along today sweetie. I so enjoyed myself. I can just imagine the trouble us two would get in to there in the BIG Apple. It would never be the same.

I am crossing my fingers for you for the giveaway. Reaching a goal, and maybe winning a prize while doing it. I love it sweetie.

Have a beautiful week. I so adore you. Much love and many hugs, Sherry

New York looks wonderful. What I wouldn't do to have a fruit and veggie market like that near me. Great job with the walking and the yoga. I'm definitely going to have to give Yoga a try.

Have a great week.

Love the photos. That fruit stand looks so inviting. The photo of Mott Street though, makes me glad to live where I do. It makes me appreciate the slow, quietness of our area.
All those cars and traffic would drive me nuts!
