...starts the Freedom Challenge. I found my way to this terrific blog via my sweet friend Sheilagh and I am so excited to begin tomorrow. Each participant chooses a goal for the next month and there is a great giveaway at the end of the challenge. I love giveaways, but am more excited to have the company of women around the world as I pursue my goal. My goal is reasonably modest, but as the temperatures are predicted to reach 95 degrees for the next week, I wanted to choose one that is doable. I am going to walk at least half a mile daily. I hope the outcome is a slimmer, more fit Buttercup.
My other goal for the month is to research yoga classes. This has been on my list for ages, and have not found one that works for me. The yoga studios I've found seem to be oriented to younger, trimmer folks and not to the more arthritic Buttercup. I am committing to finding a place that works for me, and yes, to taking my first class in August.
Do you have any challenges you're planning for the summer? Come and join us. The more the merrier!

I'm going to have to check out the challenge!
I used to do astanga yoga... would memorize a verse each time I did it and meditate on that verse while practicing yoga. Wish I still had time for it...
Thanks for stopping by my blog tonight! Staying home with 4 animals isn't exactly a celebration, but LOVE them,,,so that's a priority!
If you find a yoga studio that you like the look or feel of,,,,,,find out WHO owns or manages the place. Most of these folks will offer you a PRIVATE session or two to work around your injuries/problems. Then,,,,you can join one of their classes that will work for YOU based on your ailments/injuries!
And,,,find some really "hot" stretch clothing that makes you feel better...LOL,,,price is NO object here! (Sorry, almost always about a bit of humor with me!)
But, Truly? and Most importantly,,,speak up about YOUR needs....you'll find someone/something that works for YOU!
I'm following now,,,,so I'll be back!
Hugs,
Shell
Thank you, sweet friend for praying for my son, seth and all the others serving our country.

One kind of yoga outt here now - has the heat turned up as you do it - they make you sweat.
If you can't find a yoga studio, try a tai chi one, many times they are more welcoming to the older, rounder folks.
go Buttercup :-) good goal. i'm going to do an open water swim (that means i have to train for it) ha ha.
I'll have to give this some thought. But I love yours, Buttercup, and good luck!
And a great goal it is Buttercup...and I agree with Holly tai chi is wonderful to get those ol' arthritic bones moving. Gentle and relaxing too.
Thanks for popping by and leaving a comment on my post regarding the bears...I appreciate it.
Warmest Hugs,
Sandi @ Bearly Sane
You've got great goals, and I wish you the best of luck in achieving them.
Best of luck!
