Pedicure Pink Saturday: Let's Talk Toes

Do you choose pink for pedicures?

If not pink, what's your color of choice?

I got the idea for this Pink Saturday post yesterday afternoon. I stopped into my local nail salon to make an appointment for a pedicure later in the week and the array of bright polishes caught my eye. I decided it was time to get a direction on my color choice for my upcoming pedicure. Help me choose my next color.

I have been going with darker colors -- my toes are a deep wine color now -- and generally I choose a deep gray or navy. It may not be what you might have expected for Buttercup. I'm the exact opposite when I got my twice a year manicure and go with "Ballet Slippers," an almost sheer pink that I've been told is also Queen Elizabeth's choice.

But those bright pink colors above really caught my eye and I'm thinking of going just wild with one of these colors. Are you manicure fan? Is pink or red your choice, or do you go for a less conventional color? Does anyone choose one of the metallic looks and get gold or silver polish? Let's talk toes!

After twenty-four hours of an aching arm and feeling tired from my booster, I felt fine on Saturday morning. Not knowing how I'd feel I hadn't scheduled anything, but the weekend turned out to be fun and busy. The weather was glorious and New York City is happening again. I've got three posts to share this week about my weekend activities. Tomorrow I've got a very fun Monkey Monday post that will be a great way to get the week started. Please stop by!

As ever, thanks for visiting and wishes for a great week.

There is Nothing Like...

...a pedicure. My apologies to Rogers and Hammerstein, but there is absolutely nothing like a pedicure to cheer me up and bring me totally out of turnip-land. Was feeling a little turnipy today and marched myself over to my favorite nail salon and put to use the remainder of my holiday gift certificate. Thanks, again, Kathy, Jess and Tom. Somewhere around the time when my feet were being massaged with "Energizing Orange" massage cream the world looked rosier. Of course, the world hadn't changed, but my mood had and I am still feeling buttercupish and not turnipy four hours later.

On the way home I passed our local community garden which had a wonderful tulip festival. Took a few pictures to share. Not sure I do the festival justice.

During my travels around the Upper West Side I passed a street named for one of my favorite actors of all time and found his childhood house. Yes, there's a plaque on the building. Any guesses? I'll post the answer and photos this week. There may be a New York City souvenir for the right guess.

Have a great Monday!

P.S. Check out my favorite movies on my profile for a clue.
