It's Almost Sock Weather...

...And time for long sleeves and long pants. Autumn is officially less than ten days away and I feel that I can legitimately begin the autumn posts. While doing a little browsing over the weekend I came across a display of cat and dog Halloween costumes. Since my last post -- writing about September 11 -- was (appropriately) serious I thought this topic would lighten things considerably. We can all use a little fun and even some silly in our lives.

Whether it's the simple themed neckwear...

A witch's hat...

Or the bovine look, your feline friend is going to look spiffy for the Halloween festivities.

No worry, canine friends are included, too. Some devoted animal companion is going to be dashing in the Oscar Meyer look or monkey look-alike.

Fido will be pretty in pink for Halloween.

Tomorrow I'm off for a sentimental journey. The song lyric continues, "to renew old memories." I know I will do that, but I hope to make some new memories, too. You know there will be pictures.

As ever, thanks for visiting and welcome to almost autumn.

Our leaves are almost at peak here in Summit County, CO, so I'm already calling it fall. And already bundling up when I go outside! Have fun on your sentimental journey.

Every morning I open the door to our porch, hoping for a breath of cool air. So far, it hasn't been cool. I know it's coming. But it's taking its own sweet time getting here!

They really make some cute costumes for pets. I need to make some for dolls! Enjoy your trip! Hugs, Diane

Early mornings here lately have made me wish I'd put socks on but it quickly warms up during the day feeling much like summer yet. I have enjoyed the cooler nights. A sentimental journey sounds wonderful I'll be looking forward to your pictures.

You gave me a good idea, I have been trying to devise a way to display my friend's "dog-neck-warmers" that are so cute. I was looking for a stuffed dog but just a picture on cardboard would do much nicer. I hope your trip is wonderful with lots of pictures. Thanks!!!

It's always fun to see the cute costumes people come up with for their pets. Ours hate wearing things like that so we don't often dress them up.

Hi Carol, I hope your trip is going well and I look forward to pictures.

We saw a sombrero that would be cute on our little Chihuahua/Terrier mix. Of course, he would snap at us if we TRIED to put the hat on him!
