Some Like it Hot Pink Saturday

I'm still on the coffee theme, but this post shares a few pictures, a few thoughts and asks a question. Some folks like their coffee hot. Do you?

I'm generally an iced coffee fan, but after dinner out or for a treat I like cappuccino, which is espresso, hot milk and steamed milk foam. The name for this drink comes from the Capuchin friars, and it refers to the color of their habits. When the milk is added to the dark espresso the coffee resembles the habits. Last night I was out for dinner and the desserts were a great temptation. I'm happy to say I resisted, but I finished the evening with this cup of cappuccino.

I had this treat in Cuzco, Peru, somewhat accidentally. I ordered iced coffee and after several enjoyable sips I realized I'd gotten Irish coffee, which is whiskey, hot coffee, sugar and whipped cream. Yes, I could have sent it back, but what a treat!

Sometimes, a cup of coffee is just a cup of coffee. Nothing fancy here, and I'm not even sure where I took this picture. But I caught a quiet moment in a café.

Though I'm still coffee themed "H," I'm also linking up to Pink Saturday. I'm late for "H" and I'm just under the wire for Pink Saturday. I've been blogging about three times a week before starting the Challenge daily blogging and especially picture taking and editing has been more work than I'm used to. I know I did a lot more writing and sitting in front of the computer when I was working, but I remember being exhausted by Friday every week. I'm not exhausted, but I've got to keep up the pace to get all my blogging done. One of the things I need to pay attention to is
Coffee Light and Mysteries (Mostly) Noir, which is overdue for an update.

So much coffee and so many mysteries and so little time! As ever, thanks for visiting and take good care.

My hubby is loving your coffee posts since he's an aficionado too. We both loved the Capuchin friars story. Had never heard it before. And from an Irish girl, a little whiskey in your coffee never hurts.

I'm not a fan of iced coffee, but I do enjoy my coffee hot and cappuccino after dinner is a wonderful treat.

The K cups here at my house do include both cappuccino and Irish coffee. I like them both. I hadn't heard the story about the friars either. I learn something new every day.

I do love coffee, and my son has just read two books about it as he is determined to make the very best coffee, as he is in the service industry (working at a pub till he decides what he wants to do for a career!) ~Liz http://www.lizbrownleepoet.com

Laughing at myself here. I thought you were in Disneyland and that the coffee shown in the second photo had Mickey ears in it. Then I realized what I saw was the backs of two chairs behind the coffee. I like my coffee as hot as I can drink it without burning my lips or mouth. If it cools off too much before I finish, I have to reheat it. My husband liked iced coffee, so I made coffee ice cubes for him to use instead of regular ice cubes that diluted his beverage. He was over the moon about that!
