Buttercupland Fair Pink Saturday

In honor of Small Business Saturday I'm happy to open the Buttercupland Fair, one of my favorite annual features. The Buttercupland Fair gives me the opportunity to showcase the very talented citizens of Buttercupland who are creative treasures and who create treasures. I am continually amazed and delighted with the talent my friends have and I am happy to share it with all of Buttercupland. There are some great gift ideas -- useful, thoughtful and fun -- that I am happy to highlight this Pink Saturday.

One of my all-time favorite small businesses is  GoodNeighborsCandle, made by the wonderful Becky of Hospitality Lane. One of the most fun days of this year was spent with Becky, her husband, Warren, beautiful daughter, Chelsea, and friend Johnny, when they visited New York City. A special day and lovely memories. Becky creates some of the loveliest scented candles ever and I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite, though I am partial to her hot chocolate scent and her fresh baked apple pie and pumpkin pie spice and on and on and on. All yummy and all soy candles, beautifully scented.

Tonight I'm featuring the spiced cranberry tea candles because it's Thanksgiving weekend and the color is close to pink for Pink Saturday. I've given a number of these beautiful candles as gifts and will be doing so once again this Christmas. An additional product of GoodNeighborsCandle is adorable baby and wedding shower favor candles.

Our second Buttercupland feature is a wonderful Christmas book, "A Scrapbook of Christmas Firsts."

One of the authors of this beautiful Christmas gift book is one of my favorite bloggers, Terra at Terra Garden. Terra is a talented writer, gardener -- her flower pictures help to cheer up the bleakest winter days -- and a sweet, sweet friend. I love giving books as gifts and this makes a perfect gift for so many people I can think of.

One of my goals for December is to take many, many pictures in New York City of seasonal decorations. I'll be at Macy's and Rockefeller Center and Radio City, but I'm also going to visit as many neighborhoods as I can work into my calendar. Some pictures may just be the little sweet scenes that catch my eye, like this one in an East side stationery store.

Santa sprucing up the reindeer with new hats and scarves.

I took a hiatus this week from Foodie Friday. Thursday was definitely the foodie day of the week and a very delicious one. In a real switch this year we had American caviar, both reasonably priced and delicious, as an appetizer, and followed with butternut squash soup, turkey, cranberry ginger relish, stuffing, mashed potato casserole, sweet potatoes, and fabulous brussel sprouts with pecans.  I hope everyone shared a Thanksgiving celebration as delicious and enjoyable as I did. It was definitely a day of blessings.

It's been a quiet day, but I did get to the gym -- definitely a must after Thursday -- grocery shopped, read and got to the hardware store. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer and I plan to be out with my camera enjoying the decorations and the good weather. There will be pictures!

As ever, thanks for visiting and take good care!

Good morning Carol :)
I need to take a moment to check out the sites that you've posted.

I'm so glad that you had a nice Thanksgiving! I've never had caviar, and I'm not sure if I'll ever be brave enough to try it ***smile***.

I cannot tell you how excited I am to see your pictures that you are going to post!! Yay!!!
I'll tell our daughter also, as she is a big fan of NYC, and has it on her bucket list to visit there one day.
So, in advance... "THANK YOU"!!

Smiles :)

Love these suggestions, Carol!
Given my druthers, I'd much prefer to support the small businessman/woman than some giant corporation.

PS - Wouldn't that book make a great gift for the new bride?

Make sure to also see Lord & Taylor's windows if you have a chance-- they were always charming whenever I saw them during the holidays!
