Becoming Bea

I've got my reading picked for this winter. Thanks to Litfuse Publicity Group I've discovered the series, The Courtships of Lancaster County. I had the privilege of reviewing "Becoming Bea" by Leslie Gould and discovered a wonderful and engaging fiction world that I want to visit often.

Beatrice Zook lives in the shadow of her much more outgoing older sister, Molly. Circumstances lead to change in Bea's life, change that initially Bea is wary about. The novel gives us an absorbing story of change, growth, friendship and love. My only hesitation about recommending "Becoming Bea" is that there are a lot of characters and for a good part of the novel I had trouble keeping up with them. I would strongly suggest reading the first book in the series, "Courting Cate"  and then "Becoming Bea." I am pleased that there are two other books in the series and on the winter days to come I can make a cup of coffee and enjoy a visit to Lancaster County.

The trees in New York don't look all that different from the cover of Becoming Bea." There's still some color and this week it's looked the most fall-like of any days in the last few months. I was able to capture one of the prettiest trees I'd seen last Friday.

I found this beauty in front of New York Presbyterian Cornell Medical Center.

We're still clinging to autumn here and I am grateful for every day without snow. The weather is predicted to change later this week, but I am glorying in our relatively warm and mild weather for as long as we have it. I am no fan of winter and the last few days are perfect to me.

As always, thanks for visiting. Take good care!

Please note: I received a review copy from Litfuse Publicity Group, but the opinions here are all mine.

The photo is lovely! As for the books, I'll have to check them out. Over the last few years, I've come to really enjoy most of the Amish novels. This Saturday I'm actually going to be going to Lancaster county to the Sight and Sound Theatre to see their production of Moses. I've been to the theatre once before about 15 years ago. We're going to go early and have breakfast at one of the Pennsylvania Dutch restaurants. We take the back road and so we often see a number of the Amish on the way.

The orange colored leaves are glowing in your photo, and the book sounds like a nice autumn read.

Lovely color still in NYC. We still have good color here, too. The forecast indicates, however, that winter weather is heading our direction, so there should be some good time for reading.

Buttercup, That is one beautiful tree. Our morning started with the sun shining and making everything all golden, but before the morning was into full swing, the clouds rolled in and brought rain and wind. So I think we are in for some wintery weather. Hope you get a few more days of autumn. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

Book sounds interesting. I'm not fond of snow either.

It has been a beautiful fall, and I agree with you that the past week has been glorious. I do fear though that this might be the end of of the beautiful days, but I am going to enjoy them and hope for the best that there will not be a reoccurrence of last winter.

You are very fortunate to still have such magnificent color there. There is not much at all left here; We had a couple of beautiful days here the beginning of the week, but starting today we are on the downhill slide.

I recently read and reviewed this same book. There were a lot of different characters and since I came in last on the series it would have been nice to have read the other books first but it was a pleasant read.

I still love a hand held book that I can see and touch and turn pages! I am always looking for a good read. Thank yu for sharing and I love that sweet autumn photo. We have so much bitter cold and snowy and icy roads. Ugh!
