Today is actually a sunny day in this long, long winter. I wore sneakers to walk to physical therapy and it was just fine...not much ice out there. It's time to link up with our friends at Random 5 Friday, the most fun that doesn't involve calories.
1) Let's start with a little sunny fun. Tuesday was a beautiful day, cold, but clear and sunny. For the first time in weeks I was on the railroad to spend the day with my friend Sandy in Westchester. We had a terrific lunch and walked in Tarrytown. I enjoyed seeing the marquee for this vintage theater.

Besides the theater there were antique and thrift shops that caught my eye. I definitely need a return visit.
2) The status of my dining room floor remains unchanged. I've got the temporary board over the hole in the floor and I'm waiting for the final go-ahead. I'm both eager and not-eager to get the work done. I'll be glad to have a solid floor again -- I don't take floors for granted! -- but the week of work will be difficult.
3) I wasn't one of the bloggers chosen for SoFabCon in May. I'm disappointed, but appreciative of the submissions that the winning bloggers created.
4) Aunt Buttercup was moved at Jay Leno's last night on the "Tonight" Show yesterday. No, I'm not just a biddy aghast at celebrity behavior, but I try to look at the positive in the world. I especially liked seeing Carol Burnett, one of my all-time favorite television friends.
5) If you need a chuckle I hope this works for you. I saw this sign in Grand Central Terminal and I had to stop and snap a picture.
I hope you're having a bright and sunny Friday. As always thanks for stopping by and take good care.

Back to school on a cold and cloudy day. Now we have the weeked!
Have a good one.

We also had a sunny February day today. I even opened the windows for a bit to feel some fresh air in our home, then went on a walk. I'm desperate for spring!!
Loved seeing the marquee. Looks like a charming place to visit. Sorry to hear your floor is not fixed yet. STAY WARM.
I love the note to Noah! lol. And i love old theaters like the one you've pictured here. :)
Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh!! I have been to Tarrytown!!! (big smiles)--loved the sign. Glad you had fun. Blessings

Love the marquee, very like the one in a small town near where I grew up. Lovely memories!
Always fun to go along on your walks around town. Hope you enjoy a lovely weekend.
It was a sunny day here too and I managed to get out and pick up a few needed things here. Very cold out though but I layered up and kept warm enough. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
WE have had some sunshine too:) It is so good to see that bright ball in the sky! Enjoy your weekend dear friend, sorry you didn't win the trip! HUGS!
Carol you are just a cutie! I am catching up a bit on my blogs. I will miss seeing in next month during Nationals but perhaps we will meet again. Enjoy your trip and I wish you well with the floor work. Your hots are always wonderful and I am excited to come to NYC! I love the Unicorns! HeeHee! Hugs, Anne
Lucky you to have a "sunny" day. We've not seen much sun the last few days & plenty of snow. I think the sun did peek out for a few minutes on Friday.
The theater marquee was cool looking. Hope you get your flooring done soon.
The Unicorn thing made me smile.
Love that old marquee sign -- so art deco -- one of my favorite periods. xo
I went to school in New Paltz. My roommate was from Hastings-on-Hudson and talked about Tarrytown. Bummer on the floor. I had wondered about that. I agree construction is a pain in the neck and in the normal routine. It seems to disrupt us for more weeks than the days it takes them to do it. We will be glad when this is behind you, too.
