I'm a Halloween fan. I loved Halloween growing up and would start thinking about my costume months before the holiday. In the last few years I've been less involved, but I made sure I had candy in the office and Pepe had his Halloween costume, a purple Halloween sweater. Since I won't be working late this year, as in almost every year past, I decided to plan a costume. I wanted something I could put together out of most things I already owned and came up with the idea of dressing as a Dance Hall Diva, with a frilly skirt and shawl. The one thing I needed to really make my costume was fun hosiery, maybe even Fishnets. As with so many things I turned to Duane Reade (DR), my favorite drugstore and often my first shopping stop for many items.
Besides lots of Halloween supplies...
I hit the jackpot with DR hosiery. I wanted something fun, lively and not wildly expensive. I also wanted hosiery that was comfortable. I am planning to wear my costume for candy distribution in my building that goes on for several hours, starting with little ones around 5:00 P.M. and older kids coming around until 8:00 P.M. There were lots of fun patterns...
It's a tough choice...
Polka Dots caught my eye...
But then I saw these great chevrons...
It was a very tough pick. I liked the polka dots, chevrons, lace and several others. I couldn't pick just one pair of DR Legwear, and happily I didn't have to. Right now I'm leaning to these incredibly fun tights for my costume...
This is my Dance Hall Diva Halloween costume.
But I've got two more weeks to think about which pair is my favorite for Halloween, and I've got fun hosiery for all winter. My next project is buying a black skirt, so I can show off all of my #DRLegCandy. Stop by the the Duane Reade Facebook contest page to learn about the Duane Reade Boo-tiful Legs Contest. You have the opportunity to show off your Boo-tiful legs in #DRLegCandy for a great prize. The contest opens today and runs through November 3.
Does anyone else wear a costume for Halloween? What are your Halloween plans this year?
Hope you're having a great Sunday! As always, thanks for visiting and take good care of yourself.

Okay - This is SO MUCH FUN!!!
I was always a witchy hag at school and I wore a ribbon that said "homecoming queen" from one of our rival schools. That was always a hit with my students . Now that I'm retired I just wear a Halloween tee shirt and a black skirt and hat. I usually don't bother with the wig and makeup.
I bet you will be a darling dance hall girl in your fancy tights.
Hugs, Lura
You'll have to show us you final decision! It's great that your neighbors hand out candy.
Sometimes we wear costumes
at school but usually I pull out
a holiday t-shirt so that I
am comfy.
M : )
That sounds like a lot of fun. I have not gotten dressed up for Halloween in years, but I do dress up my house for all the visiting gremlins.
LOVDE your costume idea. It'll be perfect. I used to go all out dressing up in years past. But these days I usually just wear a mask.
I used to wear a costume to hand out candy and to parties but here we don't celebrate H so no costumes ;-( you sound like you'll have great fun.
Cute hose:) I love having fun leggings to wear around the Holiday! Have a blessed week dear friend, HUGS!
Hi, Buttercup! In case you haven't checked my blog today, you won a giveaway!:-)
Some years I will wear a costume of sorts, and other years I will simply don a witch hat. Where we live now we haven't had many trick-or-treaters at all, so I don't load up on treats, and usually it isn't candy that I have available. Perhaps that word has spread, and that is why we don't have many come by.:-)
Love your legwear, by the way!
I haven't worn a costume in years. We rarely get kids because we live at the top of a hill and it's too far for walking. What I have worn in the past is WARM clothing since I have helped with the Fall Festival at our church.
Looks like you have your dancing shoes on and are ready for fun! Love those polka dots on the leg wear you discovered at Duane Reade! Thanks for sharing your find and your costume :)#client
