Somehow the week flew by and once again it's time for Random 5 Friday with Nancy and our blog buddies at "A Rural Journal."
1) For what seems like decades -- though I know it's only a few weeks -- the temperature during the day was under eighty degrees. This inspired me to do more walking than usual and I came upon one of my favorite stores. Tender Buttons. I don't knit or sew, and I still haven't gotten to my crocheting lessons, but anyone in search of interesting, unusual and/or adorable buttons, this is the place.
2) For what may be the millionth time in my life -- yes, the second time I am wildly over-stating in the same post -- I waited too long in a season to get clothes/shoes I needed. First I had the bathing suit episode and now all that are left in the shoe stores are white sandals or sandals with very high heels. Neither of which are what I am looking for. Today, I should be buying a pair of fall shoes to wear with pants, but it just seems too early.
3) Single serving cups of ice cream are the greatest impediments to gluttony (and calories) I know. I get my taste of ice cream and don't run the risk of remembering there is ice cream in the freezer at midnight.
4) Five days until I leave for Orlando. This is the reason for my frantic sandal shopping today.
5) Thirteen days until I leave for Chicago and BlogHer. I am really looking forward to meeting Deanna, who blogs at Snippets from Springdale. She is an extraordinary photographer and her blog is so much fun to visit.
For someone without full-time employment it's been a busy week and I'm looking forward to the weekend. Tomorrow is an easy day, but Sunday I'm spending the day in Philadelphia. Monday, I'm back to my 9:05 a.m. exercise class, but that's a post for another day.
Yes, that's a giant gold button

First Orlando and then Chicago. You'll be busy, indeed. ENJOY!
My local Hallmark store is showing off their Christmas ornaments tomorrow. That's a little early for me.
You are one busy girl. I was out shopping today and saw lots of sandals on sale. Sorry you are having such a rough time of it. Sounds like you'll be having a wonderful time though with all the traveling ahead of you! Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Goodnees, how did you find time to work! Whew!!
:)
I was just wondering when your Orlando adventure was slated? ...
Suppose you might have better luck finding the "right" sandals once you're there? I'm remembering that's but an hour from the coast.
Have a fabulous weekend!
I read in Deanna's blog yesterday that she was meeting up with you, how cool is that!!! Orlando and Chicago fun busy you will be...
I love shops like that, and i don't knit or sew either, but i want to learn!
I also do the same thing with seasonal shopping. I should know better by now not to want to buy summer clothes in summer. Lol. Alas i do not.
Enjoy your trips!
Carol, so happy you are rushing into your retirement head on! So many awesome things to do in your future.
Give Deanna a hug for me. She is one of my fav bloggers. xo
