Random 5 Friday

I thought it would be fun to link up with one of my favorite blog buddies, Nancy, for Random 5 Friday. We post five random facts about us, our day, our pets...just about anything at random.

1) I'm a fan of cake pops. This beautiful tray was made by my very talented friend, Donna, for my official retirement dinner on June 6. They tasted as good as they looked.

2) My drink of choice most days, but especially in the summer, is iced coffee, and we've had perfect iced coffee weather for the last few days.

3) I especially like to read mysteries and I enjoy those set in England. I've found a new series set in the Napoleonic era and the lead character is Sebastian St. Cyr. There's a lot of murder, and some quite bloody, but I really liked it and I'm now completely hooked. Besides my dear friend, Terra, any other mystery fans in Buttercupland?

4) I wear sunscreen every day, winter or summer.

5) I've had my first few fleeting thoughts of Christmas already and have started working on a "Christmas Club" account at my savings bank.

Thanks, Nancy, for a fun random Friday!

Wishes for a fun Friday!

Oh girlfriend, you are so smart to start a Christmas account now! Yes, we do share a love of mysteries. I have never had a cake pop, that gift basket must have been heaven for you.

That book series sounds right up my alley, Carol, but I'm having a hard time reading lately. I'll keep them in mind when the mood returns!

Thanks so much for joining up today. So nice of you.

Happy retirement to you and happy semi-retirement to me! I didn't get cake pops to celebrate though - and I want one NOW! Love the idea of Random 5 Friday. I'll check it out and may be playing along with you soon!

I like iced coffee too :) And cake. I have trouble with suspense so not too sure about murder mysteries. I rarely wear sunscreen unless at the beach. My Christmas fund is a wee bit behind :)

Now, I'm curious re. Sabastian ... Will make a note to check him out!

Too, I'd so love to join you in an iced coffee. Mentally that's so refreshing. We just watched the weather forecast: 115-degrees on Friday ... wish I were in NYC (lol).

I enjoyed this post! :)

Reading is always a nice way to spend your time. Mysteries are okay without the gory details. ENJOY!

Went looking for the book you mentioned . . . I suspect I'll have my copy next week and join you in the adventure.

Thanks!

Great random 5, Carol :) It's fun getting to know you more. I enjoy a good mystery, but I have to admit that I don't like them too "gorey" :)

Have a great weekend. Hugs to you!

Just had to let you know that I tried some iced coffee today. I had some Cafe Caramel and added it to a tall glass of crushed ice. It was delicious and very refreshing. It's heating up in northern Ohio this weekend.

I love mysteries of any kind but anything English is high, high on my list. What is the name of that series and I love iced coffee too, not a tea lover.
