Very well, thanks!
I spent my third day of retirement -- middle of the afternoon -- at Macy's exploring. Usually I am very focused and look exactly where I need to look and quickly exit the store. But I wasn't tired and I had plenty of time. On the sixth floor I noticed a fabulous gelati counter and stopped for an afternoon snack.
I chose almond crunch and pistachio. Both were very good, but I am an almond fan and would have loved another serving. I guess I'll have to come back another day.
They also serve other desserts -- I had my eye on a cannoli -- and sandwiches and salads. There is also a full restaurant that looks so enticing. I felt for just a little while that I was in Italy. It was a great feeling for just a quick subway trip.
Everything looked delicious. The restaurant is in the background.
I could definitely get used to retirement. It's going very well, thanks.
Wishing you a Friday that goes very well, too.

Looks like a great way to spend the afternoon. yummy flavors too. I would have gone for a sandwich too.
Enjoy yourself, Carol. Isn't it wonderful to have enough time to just meander and relax?????? Such is retirement....

Retirement is awesome and it looks like you are getting it all figured out:) Hugs to you as you enjoy each day!
What a wonderful day you had. It does sound like a trip back there would be worthwhile for sure. Hope you have a fantastic Friday!
What a delightful place. It's great that you can take the subway there and escape and enjoy a unique treat.
Ah, I see you have caught on very quickly...middle of the afternoon equals perfect. Early morning to mid-morning even better. Except that's also a good time to sip coffee and read. So many choices.....
How fun and delightful! Enjoy your weekend :)
Hugs to you!
A Friday Visit with YOU is always Splendid!!!

Hooray for you! Shopping in the middle of the week is luxurious because often the stores aren't as crowded.
And I learned something again from your blog - - went to Dictionary.com. Tell me if I interpreted this correctly. Gelati is the plural form of Gelato? No matter how it is spelled -- I love that stuff!
I've never had cannoli, but next Saturday I'm going to a big new Italian restaurant with my daughter and I am going to try it!
What a delightful place to spend some time! We don't have Macy's here, but our oldest daughter is quite a fan of the one in her town!
It is good to hear that retirement is going well for you!
Maybe you should make that a weekly retirement treat?! So glad you are enjoying you retirement :)
