Ten Thoughts for 2013...Books, Books, Books

I read more in 2012 than in 2011, but less than I'd like to read. Almost forty years ago I worked in one of the Cokesbury bookstores in Nashville and I read four or five books every week. Those days are long gone, but there are still so many books I'd like to read. I'm going to build my reading and love of books into this blog. I'm not going to make it solely a book review blog, but every week I will be writing about a book that I am reading. I may slip from time to time and I will revisit a book that I've enjoyed in the past that I'd like to share.

I'm also inviting all of you to share the books that you have read that you've enjoyed. I'm looking for guest bloggers. It can be a mystery novel, cook book or a children's book you're sharing with your grandchildren. It can be three sentences or three paragraphs. Calling all readers, there's a place for you in Buttercupland. I'm looking to start the weekly, "I'm Reading...What are you Reading?" at the end of next week. Please don't be shy.
Any volunteers?

I love to get tips on books to read, altho our TBR stacks are high indeed. Carol I am sure you turned me on to the C.J. Sansom series when you mentioned it here. Wonderful series, so thanks.

I do love to read and probably do read 3 books a week, sometimes more if I'm not busy, but most of the time I'm doing other things. I love to do so many varied things and reading is just one of them. I'm not volunteering for any guest blogging but will let you know in commenting when I find a really good book.

I have been reading Three Moons Over Sedona and enjoying it. There are a couple of things I would change about it, but it's set in such a nice locale!

I need to get back to reading, I could read three books a week for many years, recently relaised how much I miss it, so that will be rectified this week.

I love the idea of sharing.

Buttercup, I used to read on my job...where I had to sit and wait for machines to break. I was the trouble shooting electrician in that dept. So while I had to wait , I would read. Now it seems I can't sit still long enough to read. I just saw that old "twilight zone " with Burges Merideth (sp)where he gathered all the books then accidently broke his thick glasses..Bummer. I think sometimes, I put off reading because now I wear glasses and it's a bother. Smiles to you dear friend, xo,Susie

Oh, I LOVE books and reading! That is the focus of the office I hold with our Conference UMW.

I suppose you have heard that the Cokesbury Bookstores are all closing by April 2013.

I will be reading regularly as well!

Oh I too love to read, but it seems since I took up photography I don't read as much as I would like. I also have a stack that I would love to finish in 2013. Will let you know about the volunteering. Currently I am reading "The Chaperone" by Laura Moriarty

This sounds like a good idea, although I don't know how reliable I would be. I certainly would enjoy reading book reviews though. I hope lots will volunteer. Also maybe this would encourage us to read more.

Sounds like a great idea!

I would love to participate. Kids' books and adult novels and biographies. Let me know when and what to do specifically.

As Lynda said "Let me know when and what to do specifically."

G'afternoon!
... I, too, love this idea; what a splendid way to meet other bloggers and sneak-peek at their favorite reads. This old world needs more readers!
