Woo hoo! I'm about to be six for five for posting and loving it! The theme for today is "Today's Temperature", and although it turned chilly tonight the day was sunny and in the 50's. It was just my kind of December weather and not unlike last Saturday. Though this picture doesn't show it the weather was equally balmy and it was sunny before we pulled away from Manhattan. Manhattan is directly to the right and New Jersey is in the distance on the left and I am happily riding on the Staten Island Ferry.
I also took this picture on Saturday. It is the Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, which is directly across from the Ferry Terminal. St. Elizabeth Seton was the first canonized American saint and the founder of the Catholic parochial school system in the United States. I am continually awed by the moments of history tucked into corners of New York City. Lower Manhattan is especially rich in historical treasures and I so enjoy the discoveries.
Thanks for sharing my discoveries and the pleasures of New York City. So glad to have your company!

How neat, that I come here not only for comfort/entertainment ... but to learn something new!

Glad you are having some good weather yet there. This week has been colder for us but still nice for December. The freezing cold and snow will come, so I'm counting my blessings while they last! Hope your Thursday is a great one!
I enjoy your pics of NY. It is one of my favorite places to travel to. We had the opportunity to live in NY a few years ago and it was such a blessing. I can't wait to come back and visit again someday!
Just as soon as I win the lottery, I will be making a trip to NYC to see all of these wonderful places you blog about!
Our temperatures have been rather mild for December, though not as warm as last year when we set a record high temperature of 72 a year ago! We rarely have snow around here.
I love your pictures. Of all the places I would like to go, NY is at the top, and that ferry picture, so beautiful.
I'm really enjoying your NY posts!!
I am enjoying visiting your beautiful city with you:) Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!
Buttercup, There was a question about St.Elizabeth Seton, On jeopardy the other night. I love when people in New York post pictures of the city and give us some info on them. It's like a little tour with you. Thank you. Hope the city is getting back into shape and cleaned up. xo,Susie
