I've been trying to take pictures this month to use to illustrate December, but I remembered this picture taken three years ago and it was my choice for today's theme of family. It is one of my all-time favorite photos.
I am here with my first cousin once removed, Alyssa. Her mother is my first cousin. Alyssa is now sixteen and a very grown up and mature sixteen year old. I received the card tonight that included a photo of Alyssa and her siblings and I am awed at how adult they all look.
I am so grateful for the blessing of family. Family to laugh with, celebrate with -- as we are doing here -- and to cry with at the sad times in our life. Wishing all the blessing of family, at this season and all through the year.

How wonderful it is to have family. You are blessed to have that young lady in your life. I do know what a difference 3 years can make so I imagine she is quite grown up at this point. They do grow up overnight it seems.
Great picture Buttercup. You both look good:):) Hope you are doing well. xoxo,Susie
Sweet photo of you two cousins. Do you use the expression "kissing cousins", or is that unique to my family? I like the expression.
Your sweet smiles make me smile...hugs
That's a wonderful photo--and a great addition to a memory bank!
Beautiful smiles! Cousins are so important; they are the only ones who understand...and celebrate...your particular brand of familial insanity!

Great photo of you and your cousin! Yes, it's wonderful to have family to enjoy. I have a few cousins that are very special to me, and I don't know what I'd do without them (I'm an only child, so I really appreciate them!) Enjoy your family this season, Buttercup!
Best,
Gloria
