There is no Joy in Mudville

Alas, I wish it was just a strike out. But it's far worse news for those of us who are Yankee fans and there are tears here today.

My post on a great visit to the New York City Ballet has been pre-empted by a news flash. Derek Jeter, captain of the Yankees and a favorite ball player in Buttercupland broke his ankle in the twelfth inning of last night's play-off game. Things don't get much sadder in baseball.

Such a sad development for the Yankees!

Our oldest daughter has been in NYC with some friends on a non-business related trip! Very unusual for her!

so sorry! we don't follow baseball in Portugal. it's soccer and I'm not a fan of any team, only when it plays the national portuguese team. which is seldom during the year.

Dear Buttercup. I know there are a lot of sad fans over this.
I hope a rising star will perhaps rush in to save the day!
I hope that all is well with you and you are feeling good. Blessings dearest, Catherine xoxo

Oh this is definitely bad news for fans in Mudville. Not good. Hopefully all will heal and he will be back for another year in the Spring.

Oh, so glad to read you love Odyssey Bookstore. I can't wait to browse the shelves. I like it when the staff picks good reads.

Cheers to you,

Oh Buttercup! I am so sorry for your disappointment. Let's all of us expect rapid healing for Mr. Jeter so he can go on to victory another day - complete, whole, and inspiring for all of us . . . AND - let there be so much Wonder in Your Week - that you count it all as a Marvel . . .
Love & Love,

Buttercup, There is one yankee doodle dandy crying here in my hometown. This guy's a true yankee's fan. He is planning on being buried in his yankee garb. That is bad news about Derek.Pary he heals quickly. xo, Susie
