When Life Hands You Lemons...

I got the MRI results back on Monday. In addition to deterioration in my hip I have a spinal tumor. For the first few days I could barely say the words and it took me two days to be able to write them. I had an appointment with the neurosurgeon yesterday and it went very well. I liked him a lot and he comes very well recommended. Not only is he my internist's top choice, he performed surgery on a good friend a couple of months ago. The latter gave me a lot of confidence.

Dr. S is very confident -- can't be 100% sure before the tumor is biopsied -- that the tumor is benign. The surgery -- for neurosurgery -- is relatively uncomplicated and the recovery is expected to be about a month. It is also not emergency surgery and I can try and do many of the things I have planned for the next few weeks. I will still be able to go to the graduation in Rochester next week and my 40th college reunion in two weeks. I'll just be walking a lot slower than usual.

Continuing the lemonade theme...

When Life Hands You Lemons...

I am asking for your prayers and the prayers from any prayer groups you belong to, friends, family and blog buddies. If you send on salt and tequila, they too, will be gratefully received.

My wish for this weekend, Keep Calm and Make Lemonade!

Thanks for popping by when you have so much on your plate. I hope the op goes well and that "the man up stairs" keeps a close eye on you and the results of the biopsy are resoundingly good.

Have faith and we'll all keep on prayin'.

Oh, sweet girl, I am praying for and with you. I just went through lumbar surgery and am doing quite well now. I had a cyst on my spine and had that removed along with two vertebrae fused. Time to slow down!
I also thank you for you sweet thoughts this Mother's Day. It is hard for some of us, but shall we make lemonade for this too? : )
loving you, ~ linda

Makes me wonder what's going on in Blogland. seems like health problems abound for everybody these days. You are in my prayers. I hope that it's benign and the operation goes smoothly and that you'll be back to yourself in no time at all, without anymore pain and discomfort. TAKE CARE. PS)Please keep my daughter in your prayers. They just discovered 3 spots on her lungs. she's never smoked. And a big mass on her liver. They're going to do a biopsy soon too. I am praying with all my heart these things are benign. She's only 36 and has two small children. You never know what the good Lord is going to throw your way. Last week everything was in transition about something else. This week we are confronted with this. Salt and tequila sound good.

The good news is you got a prognosis. The bad news is more surgery - - - but the good news is hopefully the tumor will be benign like the doctor predicts. However, it is definitely a hit between the eyes that no one expects to hear. It is a great time of year though to drink lemonade! . . . . not so much so in the winter though . . . . will pray for you.
