Use a handkerchief?
I am sure very few people will say yes to this question. I am a terrific fan of handkerchiefs and still use them from time to time. I have a nice collection, amassed over the years, and I'm not ready to part with them. Carrying a handkerchief "for dress" was a part of my growing up and a custom I still enjoy.
Since I'm trying to use the things I own and not just keep things in drawers and closets I was delighted to find this beautiful wall display on pinterest. I've got some elegant handkerchiefs and this would be lovely in my bedroom. This could be done only framing four or six handkerchiefs.
Any other handkerchief fans in Buttercupland?
Wishes for a sweet Tuesday!

What a terrific idea. I love pretty hankies, too. Mama would tie my church offering (coins) in a corner of my handkerchief when I was little.
Very pretty! We always used hankies when we were younger too but now with a family of my own I dont like the washing and handling of them.
I remember Grandma's handkerchiefs in church. She somehow tied her change up into the corner. My grandchildren have no idea what they are.
I only use handkerchiefs. I absolutely hate the feel of Kleenix and have since I was a little kid.
I love the framed hankies and wouldn't mind having a display of my own. I remember having a dime tied into the corner of my hanky for the Sunday School collection back in the forties.
I LOVE handkerchiefs and have a wonderful collection also! I never thought of framing them but what an awesome idea! Have a blessed day my friend, HUGS!
Oh I have collected a lot of beautiful hankies this is a fabulous idea. B
No,never did BUT my Dad still does--and that was what my Mom taught us how to iron using-no seams,or buttons-Dad had starched and ironed hankies weekly LOL.
I do remember using hankies as a child. I always had one in my pocket then. It seems most everything I wore then had a pocket in it. I had an aunt that would send one to me every year in my birthday card. I love the idea of framing them. That is an unique idea. Now Kleenex is my choice but I do have all my old handkerchiefs . Hope your Tuesday is a terrific one!
I prefer tissues for use but love to collect pretty hankies. As another reader, my dad always carried a handkerchief too. Come to think of it, John does too.
i too still use kerchiefs and love to use it...
My grandma always carried a handkerchief. I'm sad to say i don't. I would have it was one of hers??? none to be had, though. My hubby carrys handkerchiefs. LOVES them. I bet you have some lovely ones Buttercup. take care.
Oh yes, I used hankies as in my youth. Did not seem to carry five tissues around with the need to throw them away. Grandpa used a great big one and could REALLY blow his snozola too. : ) Mom had a lovely collection of handstitched, embroidered handkerchiefs which I have some of now. This is a fine idea to display them. You are right! Why keep these things in drawers?

I love handkerchiefs. My mom always made sure that I had a clean handkerchief. She used to buy me the prettiest hankies. I just love them. This post brings back good memories.
Dear Buttercup,
I'm just catching up on all my blog reading. Summer seems to have sucked me away from the computer. ;)
I am so glad your surgery went well and that you are making such good improvement. God is good. Wishing you a wonderful week. blessings ~ tanna
