By a Nose It's Mango...

...and sea weed and kale are right behind!

Don't worry this unlikely trio isn't eaten all together, but they are becoming my new favorite foods. I never would have thought it, but it happened at Trader Joe on Saturday. Mango has been a long standing favorite, but on Saturday I bought a bag of freeze dried mango -- so good! -- in place of ice cream. I wanted a treat and thought I would buy a one serving cup of ice cream, but the bag of mango was more appealing. I also bought a bag of frozen mango for smoothies for the week.

I also bought three bags of sea weed snack. It's crunchy and salty, only sixty calories and has lots of nutrients. I discovered sea weed at the health food store in Sedona and now I love it.

The last part of this trio is kale. I've tried kale a number of times and couldn't figure out how anyone liked it. But I had it twice in Sedona -- Lonni's good influence -- once in salad and once cooked with garlic and it was good. I tried a sample of a dip this afternoon without knowing what the veggie was in the dip. It was yummy and it was kale. Like a sign from above I had to buy it and now I have a small tub of kale and Greek yogurt  in my refrigerator and I'm delighted.

This looks like a great kale recipe

What are your go-to healthy snacks? I'm always looking for new ideas.

Don't forget the DVD giveaway and remember to have a sweet Monday!

The healthiest snack I probably eat is nuts. I love pistachios. Eaten with moderation they are good for lowering cholesterol. I need more greens in my life, but I'm not so good at eating them. Hope your Monday is a wonderful one! Another new week to make the best of life.

I don't know if they are healthy, but I love rice cakes! Especially white cheese rice cakes. Only 45 calories and they keep my carb hunger pangs in check. :)

I've never eaten kale in my life. After your recommendation, I might have to try it!

I love dried mango. I could eat it by the bagful in one sitting. I call it my "crack."

If you put olive oil on Kale and a little salt and bake them - they are like potato chips! Yours looks good. sandie

I love mango, one of my very favorite fruits. Kale and sea weed I just can't get them to go down. Trader Joe's is a fun place to shop. Love it. xo

Hi, I like two out of your three. I have eaten Kale all of my life. My mother used to fix it alot as our 'green veggie'.... I like it cooked and raw in a salad.

I also love Mangos... I drink a Mango Smoothie (protein added) most everyday... Delicious. AND my hubby loves Mango tea.

Seaweed???? Well--I'll have to work on that one... ha
Hugs,
Betsy

I've never tried any of these! Mango flavored things, but not just mango. I love fresh pineapple with a little cottage cheese and hubby eats Triscuit rosemary/olive oil crackers.

When I grew up we always had kale. It was a staple in my mother's house. I LOVE mangos. I usually treat myself to Hagen Daz Mango Sorbet when I can't find the real fruit at the store. It's delish.

I saw your post on Oklahoma and Bricktown. Mr. Ken's sister and
family live in Edmond which is not far from OKC. We love to go downtown when we visit them.
Hope you had a great time.
