Pinterest HealthFest -- Good and Good for You!

Veggies and fruit are great, but sometimes I want a sweet treat that's a little more fun. I have a terrific sweet tooth and I'm working on taming it, but I know I will always think that a "real" dessert is cake or pie. I don't indulge that often, but I was delighted to find this option on Pinterest. I like banana bread and using honey and applesauce instead of sugar and oil tipped the scale to the healthier side. Portion is still my issue and I'm wary of keeping a whole cake around. I've solved this problem with ice cream by buying single cup servings, but haven't found a good way with cake. Single slices seem to be so expensive. What's your go-to treat for healthier choice desserts?

So happy the weekend is here. I've got very few plans and am delighted for a quiet time. I want to get in a walk -- or two! -- services, cooking for the week, groceries and relaxing with the New York Times, and lots of blog visiting. Sounds great to me!

Wishes for a sweet weekend!

Usually have fresh fruit for dessert. Raspberries, blueberries, pineapple, mango, grapes, etc. Not big into cookies or cakes, except at holidays. Bananna bread is yummy though. Love the applesauce idea. Want to borrow your NYT. I only get to see it on Sundays. take care. Have a GREAT weekend.

Here at my house my sweet tooth is often satisfied by a donut. I keep a box on hand most of the time. Cakes are too much for just one and a donut does me just fine. Hope you have a wonderful weekend too!

Hmmm... I don'tknow about healthy, but my personal "go-to" is a tablespoon of refrigerated extra-crunchy peanut butter. Savored ever-so slowly ... yum!

'Hope you're enjoying a glorious day!

I have a sweet tooth, also. About once a week, I'll buy a small candy bar and that gives me something to look forward to.

I hope you will enjoy your weekend.

Oh you know I have a sweet tooth... lol! If I don't have anything sweet in the kitchen, I will go in and cook/bake it! That is so bad, isn't it! Luv

Thanks for the comment on my blog. So nice to meet you. I enjoyed my visit here. About those fruits and veggies, I need more of them. I have a problem with the old sweet tooth - chocolate to be more precise. I could eat it every day. It is my weakness.
