Frozen Custard Worth Waiting For

Are these not the most yummy seasonal flavors you can imagine?

Shake Shack is a burger "shack" that's popped up in New York City in the last few years and every time I think I may try it there is always a line. Of course I try to eat there in the evening or on weekends and that is the busiest time. Last Wednesday I had a medical appointment at 2:00 P.M. (3 month surgical follow-up) in the neighborhood where Shake Shack has recently arrived.  My appointment, thankfully, went well and quickly and for a treat I decided to see if it was possible to try the frozen custard at Shake Shack. When I've walked by the custard flavors look so good.

There was no line on Wednesday and the flavor of the day -- Christmas Cookie -- didn't disappoint. Cookie flavored custard with pieces of cookie and holiday sprinkles. The other flavors for this season are Eggnog, Figgy Pudding, Chocolate Orange Chestnut, Gingerbread, Candy Cane Crunch and Apple Spice Cake. I am glad there was only one flavor to choose. I might have spent half the day making a selection from that assortment. What flavor would you choose?

I am happy to report that I am making headway with my cards and wrapping. I received my Shutterfly cards and am very happy with them. If anyone would like one please post your email in the comments and I will get in touch with you for your address. Don't know if I will get everything done by Christmas, but I'm optimistic about New Year's.

Wishes for a sweet Sunday!

Those flavors look wonderful! I love eggnog especially.

Enjoy the remainder of the weekend.

Thankful you got a good report.

They all sound so good, I would like a tiny scoop of each! But I probably would choose eggnog. I have seen this place on tv and there is always a long line. Would like to try it some day. xo

I would try the eggnog. I tried eggnog covered almonds at Trader Joes, and those are delish.

Hope your followup visit was okay. CUSTARD. Yippee! It was worth waiting for. Apple Spice Cake & Eggnog sound yummy. But even though I'm not a chocolate person, I LOVE orange and chestnuts, so I would try that too. Glad your wrapping and cards are coming along. I'm optimistic about the New Year too. Take care.

OH, it would be so hard to choose, but I think Candy Cane Crunch would get my vote! xxoo

Fig-flavored custard? I shudder to thing of it! However, I must admit that I became prejudiced against figs when I bit into a fresh one as a child.

All the flavors sound good. It would be hard to choose. I might go for the Candy Cane one first.

Glad your appointment went well. I still use the shopping bag you sent me in a giveaway. I think of you every time I use it! :)

I have yet to try Shake Shack's custard, Carol! These flavors sound so enticing. I will definitely have one after my daughter's wedding when I can indulge in sweets again :)

I flew home tonight from an early holiday celebration in Colorado ...fun times!

I think they all sound so good. I am partial to candy cane so I would probably get that one.

I am so glad that your post-op appointment went well. What a relief it was for both of us to be cancer free. God has been so good to both of us this year.

Have a great week. Hugs, Lura

Guess I am a plain Jane cuz I just like traditional flavors in my frozen yogurt & ice cream. However, my husband would love them!
Good for you on Christmas progress. I still need to finish some cards.
