Time to Give Up My Open-Toed Shoes

It was probably time to give up my summer shoes a week ago, but I am clinging to the remnants of summer desperately. Tonight I walked past one of my favorite stores on West 57th Street and saw this window.

And then I saw this window...

Shoes, it's time to say goodbye. The fall is here.

I bet you do have to give up on the shoes a little earlier than we do down here in the south. I was just in a store tonight and saw Christmas decorations up. Didn't they use to wait until after Halloween to put those up?

Here in Washington State, our weather has been CRAZY! We've had HOT lately (at least what We consider HOT) and then Cool,,,,and then Rainy....I've gone from flip flops to Boots and then back again! The weather is as ADD as I am!

Ooooohhh, I want that little Carousel! How Cute is THAT??? LOL, If you walk past it again lemme know! I'm all about the Vintage Whimsey!

I went to a Latte' stand today? A little Mom and Pop one and they had a sign up already that said, "We have Eggnog!" Eggnog in September???

Hope you're doing well, in spite of the shoes! Hugs and Love,

Shell

Love the window displays. I mourn the loss of your open toe shoes. But remember... next spring and summer will be here sooner than you think.

I have a friend who claims that open-toed shoes are good for yearround. I'm willing to give it a try this year. Maybe not the sandals, but something with an open toe now and again!

I'm crazy because I wear flip flops all year round....in the house. (I don't like going barefoot). My dog likes to steal them at night and take them to her pillow. :)

It seems stores rush the seasons more each year! We're still having very warm conditions here so I can enjoy my sandals a few more weeks.
Hope you are feeling stronger every day. Have a good week.

I'm joining you in changing the shoes too. I even had my wool socks on this past weekend. It isn't nice having cold feet. Happy Fall!

Fancy Display Windows - thanks for the view. I have heard people tell me the Christmas Displays are up all over . . . wow! I'm in Saint Louis - and keep noticing sandals and flip flops - the ladies are holding out this year. I figure they have a point. If it's raining, they won't get their socks wet.

thank you for your blog.
love & love,

Thanks for visiting my blog the other day. It's always a treat to make new blog friends. Thanks for sharing about your elementary school reunion. Sounds like fun!

Wow, you live in NYC. How exciting! I have never been there in my entire life, but it's on my "must visit" list. In fact, this past summer, my daughter and I had planned a trip (in celebration of my 50th and her 21st), and NYC was one of the trip choices. Ultimately, though, things didn't work out...one day, though.

I'm an open-toed shoe girl all year long. At least that's my heart, but that's because I'm a Florida gal. However, since I'm currently living in the Northwest and we do get cold and snow here, I have to wear closed shoes for many months...which I hate. However, it's still nice and warm, so I'm wearing the sandals a bit longer.

Have a wonderful day,
Patti

Great window display! Sadly, my sandals have been put away for the summer. It's chilly and is pouring down rain now, yesterday too and predicted for tomorrow also. Bring back summer!

Maybe you'll have some warm days that you can wear them again before it gets too cold.

The stores are needing the $$$$
so the earlier the better for them, it just makes me nervous to think that far ahead.
