Autumn in New York

This week has brought the first of real autumn weather, sunny, crisp and there's a slight chill in the air in the morning. Instead of being a Saturday slug-a-bed I got myself up, out and going after eight and enjoyed a beautiful morning in midtown. Lots of errands accomplished and a great walk up Fifth Avenue. Fabulous day to be in New York!

One of my favorite places, the New York Public Library

Flowers in front of the Library

Rockefeller Center...

...across the street, St. Patrick's Cathedral

For "Today" fans, this is the sight you see every morning, but filled with people.

Hope you enjoyed our Saturday outing and hope you're having an equally fun day!

Lovely! Hey, I've been in St. Pat's! Every season has beauty, even in the big city.

Thanks for the walk this morning. I always enjoy the pictures! It's evening here now and it was a sunny day but chilly here. Unlike you I was out in the country woods closing up my camper for the season.

Nope, I wouldn't have recognized that "Today" shot! Your caption reminds me of the time an "ex" (retired NYC police) took me to visit NYC ... we arrived up, out of the subway and he asked, "Do you know where you are?"
"Noooooo."
It was Times Square, and I was looking right where the ball drops each New Years. For some rason, it seemd much smaller in "real life"!

Loved the walk with you. Such different scenery! Glad you still have flowers blooming. Won't be long and we'll all be cold! Have a great weekend, and glad you stopped by to visit me. Yes, I can't wait to see what little Renee will look like as Pebbles! jo

Looks great, I want to visit St Patick's while we are there. Along with a whole host of other places lol. What night would be best for our meeting up? we arrive in New York on 31st and leave on 4th November.

New England is looking fabulous, going to Orchard House today to see the setting of my childhood favourite book "Little Women".

How fun for me! I felt like I was on a tour of downtown NYC! I can feel the chill in the air and the hustle all around. I lived in Washington, DC twice in my life and loved it. Enjoyed your sharing with us the big city, especially St. Patrick's Cathedral. To see such an elaborate and old building in the midst of glass and taller than tall reminds me that this is a world of all sorts but God is in control of everything. In the midst of change, He is stable and strong.
May your day be filled with the autumn colors and air. ~ linda

G'morn, sweet Carol ~ I love NYC when it looks like this so I can enjoy the beauty of the streets & architecture that get lost behind the masses ...

St. Patrick's Cathedral is magnificent ... I feel as tho God has wrapped His arms around me when I visit this beauty ... it is very moving.

You might recognize a spot on my write today ...

The roses are in full bloom & just gorgeous ... I shall so enjoy them all winter ... THANK YOU once again, my sweet friend.

Have a beautiful day ~

NY City is one of my favorite places to visit and was my first pick for our anniversary celebration. My husband, however, does not like the drive in or the high hotel rates (sigh). We have visited many times but not lately. Your post make me want to hop in the car :)
