I love, love, love "South Pacific." It was hard to pick just one clip for this musical, but one of my all-time favorite songs is "Younger Than Springtime." This version by Mandy Patinkin is one of my favorites and there is a very slight Buttercup connection to Mandy Patinkin. Several years ago I was in my local grocery -- a block from my building -- and there in the beverage aisle was Mandy Patinkin. I almost fell over and was totally unable to speak. Somehow I managed to finish shopping and check-out with falling on the floor of the grocery.
Last week I shared my ineptitude for tap dancing and with this song I share that I am a total hopeless romantic, and this is one of my favorite romantic songs. Enjoy!

WOW! - what passion, what power MP exhibits!
How very cool, your seeing him in such an ordinary setting - one of those "Kodak" moments the brain will never forget :)
Beautiful!
Love good music!
Oh, and we saw a lot of storm related pictures. Glad you're okey. Good thing you were scared at the time. Have a great week. jo
Beautiful! I enjoy most music from all musicals, but this one is exceptional!

With Mr. B and I both having music degrees, how could we not like musicals? We've got some newer ones to catch up on seeing, but there's nothing like the old standbys! We saw "Amadeus" this past Sunday evening at our local theatre. Not a musical, but about a musician who very few realize was quite the character. Excellent production and spurred talk of a trip to NYC soon for theatre going!
My youngest daughter LOVES musicals and enjoyed her involvement with crew during her high school years.
Your post reminded me of a cook book I bought by Doralee Patinkin Rubin. I was searching for a kugel recipe like one I had at a local deli that is out of this word delicious! Creamy, cream cheese and the sweetest dessert. I would love to make this dish but so far haven't found anything close.
I love musicals. The songs and music seem to stay with you forever. I hope your Tuesday is a terrific one...I'll be singing all day now.
I love musicals - so much fun. Our local group did SP several years ago. It was wonderful!
I've not seen this musical belive it or not. My all time favorite broadway musical is Phantom of the Opera. I've seen it THREE times!!!
Awesome! This is the only musical I've ever been to. When I was in high school and we went to D.C. we also got to go to a dinner theater that was showing South Pacific!
Oh, how I love South Pacific, you lucky girl but tongue tied?! Oh, mercy! I'd have sucked up my tonsils & said something that would have prob made a fool out of myself ...
Romantic ... then we truly do have much in common.
You have truly been busy, you need to take some time out & smell those lilacs ...
Have missed you.
Have a beautiful weekend, my special friend.
