At yesterday's shower I got into conversation with a woman sitting next to me, Vicki. She was a friend of the mother of the bride and a lot of fun to chat with. One of the gifts that Amanda received was a set of Corning Ware French White. I remarked to Vicki that I'd always wanted a set of French White and maybe I'd put it on my wish list for my sixtieth birthday this summer.
She responded that she'd always wanted a set, too, and why didn't we just go out and buy some pieces for ourselves? I had no good response. I have one piece of the traditional Corning Ware, with the blue cornflower, given to me by my mother at least thirty years ago. I use it at least once a week and it's my favorite cookware. She added let's promise each other that by the time we meet again at the wedding -- April 10 -- we will have our French White.
How right she is! I just looked at Amazon and will keep my lookout for a quick sale in the next month. If nothing looks better, I will hit the one-stop button at Amazon and my long desired cookware will be on its way to me.
Are there things you've been wanting for years that you've put off buying? I'm not thinking of a bucket list of things like a cottage at the sea or diamond earrings, but small useful things that you don't really need, but would make your life so much easier or more fun? What's the "French White" in your life?

I would like a chair, an actual chair. I may get one yet!!!
The French White pieces sound pretty!
How true this is. There are so many things we put off when they would add to our lives. Hmmm - right now I think I just moved into my "French White". Great reminder!
Some big white fluffy bath towels! You have inspired me!
Sweetie, TY & you are more than WELCOME to join us. I'll keep you posted. Send me your full name & email ... Sherry is getting soooo excited. We'll have a wonderful time. I have 2 extra bedrooms available, if you decide to come.
Have a lovely week.
Hugs, Marydon
Yes, I've also wanted a set of the white, but have several w/the blue corn flower, and even one with the yellow/orange flowers and absolutely love them - use them all the time, and then if got a whole new set - what would I do with the old. I've bought several of them at rummage sales, or antique stores. At great prices! Go for it - I did a couple of years ago when I wanted new silverware for daily use instead of mix/match.
I would like to have about 5 more white, long sleeved t-shirts from Old Navy. Can't believe that summer stuff is already on the shelves! I like that term "french white". So pretty!
Honestly there is not much on my wish list right now but I do have a lot of that corning ware with the blue flowers on it. It has really served it's purpose over the years which dates back almost as long as your piece. There is not much room here to add anything new anymore.
HI Buttercup !
Thank you for visiting !
My 'French White" is a jam funnel so I can fill jars and not leave a sticky mess everywhere !
HI Buttercup!!!!Those exact things were part of my bucket list!!!!!!
Calphalon skllets, not the entire set my daughter got as a wedding gift--wow is what I said!!!! But just the skillets!!!! Well I got them for Christmas in 08~!!!!!! SO yes a few minor little things, I have the old corning ware from my wedding in 76, and a few of the blue ones you mentioned along with the chicken one??????
WOW that tells our age!!!!!!
Watch for a 20%off Bed Bath and Beyond, I think Walmart matches that?????

Buttercup, I have all the Corning Ware that my mom had. The blue cornflower too. I would love some French White. Beautiful isn't it? I use my corning ware constantly. For everything.
Cottony bath towels and some Ugs. House shoes and boots. Hopefully this year I'll get some.
Good for you - do it - I love my French White - I got it a lot of years ago - and it still white and I use it all the time. Sandie
It seems like we are always willing to settle for what life hands us. I have wanted to have a silver tabby cat for a long time. But, my daughter passed along two cats to me when she got divorced. Then a friend gave me a little farm kitten, and last winter, a stray appeared at my door. What am I to do? I love them all and 5 cats is totally out of the question! C'est la vie.
I would really like a nice mixer. I had one that was likely older than me when we were first married. I got five good years out of it. Miss it terribly. And an apple corer. The second one I should just buy next time I get to the farm store or Bass Pro. Bet you don't have those in NY!!
