What Should I Wear?

Dear Blog Sisters, What do I wear to Martha Stewart? The confirmation suggests " a chic dress, dressy jeans or trendy and fashionable outfits...and no black, gray, tan or muted colors." Most of my wardrobe is black or grey. I do have a bright blue shirt, which I thought might work with my dressy jeans. I don't really own anything trendy and fashionable that isn't black, and I'm not sure even my black clothes could be described as trendy and fashionable. The best description for my wardrobe is neat and practical. Eeks! Sounds pretty drab. This may just be the impetus I need to go through my closet and find something fashionable. I think trendy and I just don't mix. Any thoughts? What are the outfits you have that you like? Is anyone else stuck in a fashion rut? Please answer soon. I need to be at the studio -- I love writing that phrase -- by 10:00 am on Wednesday.

Now to share a few signs of the times...

This photo is for Amrita. The cafe is near my friend Elana's house. I was there last week and had to take a picture to share. It's a great place and they have the best iced coffee.

These signs were about a mile from my office. I stopped on the way home to do an errand and saw that they were filming the new television series, "The Good Wife" here on Wednesday. I will be at the taping of "Martha," so I can't run over at lunch time. As my mother would have said, "You can't dance at two weddings."

Off to look at my closet! Sweet dreams and happy wishes to all. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Buttercup, you made my dau. How sweet. Maybe this place is owned by an Indian lady. I will display it on my blog for fun. A friend Nina has a eating place with her name too.

Loved your Mom 's saying...you can 't dance at two weddings!

Get a nice outfit to match your eyes and hair. Or color your hair to match your outfit!

Oh my you have jeans that fit and a bit of blue to go with your black wow that is trendy.
However my Neiman Marcus forcast e-mail insist that Red is in this season along with black slacks.
Perhaps your jeans ,a black or grey blouse and a red scarf ??????
I live in Texas who am I to argue with Neiman Marcus :) ??
Anyhoo honey trust yoru inner voice .
Wear what makes you feel like a million dollars and don't worry so much about everyone else.
I think with Autumn in the air you will find the inspiratuon you need in no time at all.
May you have a blast and return to blogland to tell us all about it !
Blessings of joy to you and yours.

What an exciting life! Can't dance at two weddings - cute.

Black is slimming on television - wonder why you can't wear it?

Aw, don't ask me. I'm an iconoclast and a real butt. I think you ought to show up in black from head to toe, who does that woman think she is???

I know, you love the tv shows...*sigh*

I like Amrita's restaurant. You can eat there without wearing something "trendy" or "chic."

All that will be seen of you is your top because you'll be sitting. I've always been told to wear something in the warm colors-red, yellow, orange-to be noticed.

This is Kate giving Buttercup advice: A white blouse and black skirt or pants will be fine. The key is one of your lovely scarves for color around your face. For you, a bright reddish maroon would be great. I can see the show doesn't want to turn to a NYC audience of sophisticated people all of whom are wearing black with these floating heads sitting on the whole black room. It would be like trying to photograph a black cat, no contrast = no definition. Have a wonderful time and blog immediately after. We will be waiting. Kate

OMG I will be of no help at all ... I spend most of my time these days in daggy stuff. After all who wants mohair and stuffing over their good clothes! LOL!
I'm sure whatever you decide will be fine...blue jeans, white blouse and a red scarf will show everyone your patriotic if nothing else! Just go have a good time.
Warmest hugs,
Sandi
