Buttercup's Television Project (1)

I have another project and tonight was my first accomplishment in fulfilling my goal. I am attempting to see as many television shows as I can that are filmed in New York City. In the last year I've been to "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" twice. I hoped to become a contestant and studied infinite hours of trivia. Alas, I didn't make it on to the show, but I did enjoy the experience.

On one of many sleepless nights in the last few months I decided to try and get tickets to other shows filmed in NYC. I've sent my name in to several and tonight I saw my first show, "The Colbert Report." What fun! Stephen Colbert is both cuter and funnier in person than on the show and I think he's funny on television. The guest was Mark Devlin, a cosmologist looking at the cosmos (what else would he look at?) via a telescope sent up in a balloon. The only minus is a lot of standing, but a small price to pay for a fun glimpse into a different world than my daily life.

No cameras permitted during the taping, but I will get photos of the studio buildings in the future. Next on my list -- waiting to hear from Rachel Ray and Martha Stewart!

In the dim & distant past when I used to live in London I went to a few television shows myself - not only did I have friends who appeared in them but I also did a few myself as a member of a singing group now completely forgotten! I even appeared on 'Top of The Pops' which you may have heard of but then only as one of the many kids dancing to someone else's record although I did sing in a backing group for one of the records on the same show. Oh the crazy things we do when we're young!
Enjoy your shows - I'm sure you will and maybe one day you'll get to be a contestant too fingers crossed.

HI!!!
I too would like a shot at Who wants to be a millionaire, I just do not want to travel there to audition and then go to the show if I made it!!! On my dime no less!!!! I have been to a Geraldo Rivera show taping, remember he used to have his own show??? And the big one for me was a Johnny Carson show, the guest that night was Bob Newhart!!!!
It is interesting to see, stay tuned to my Brush with fame game, it is going to start getting exciting this coming MONDAY!!!!
hugs,
jamie

A fun reason to be living in NYC. You must have a blast with seeing shows getting filmed. What fun! My daughter would probably love to do that.
