No surprise to anyone who knows me, Z is for Zabar's. It was "Z" last year and if there was a food Hall of Fame Zabar's would be inducted immediately. Last year's post is a great description. The store is gourmet in quality, but very approachable, and though it's world class it's a real neighborhood spot. It's usually very crowded -- I'm wary of trying to wheel a grocery cart around -- but on a Monday past at noon I was able to get a lot of pictures to share. I have many favorite parts in the store and I tried to get pictures of all of them.
The fabulous cheese department greets you at the entrance. This is only a small part of the selection.
Zabar's takeout brings the phrase to a new level. The salmon is cooked and ready to go with sauce. This is only one of the prepared food areas.

My favorite place to buy coffee. There are three bags of Zabar's coffee in my freezer right now. I buy it by the half pound and like to try new flavors.
There is dried fruit, homemade halvah and a wonderful bakery. There are strips of strudel -- apple, cherry, cheese -- delicious and ready to serve. There are rows of mustard and olive oil. The prices range from less expensive than the grocery to very pricey, but the latter are very high quality.
And so it goes...Blogging from A to Z. We went from Artie's to Zabar's and sampled bagels, pizza and baklava. We took a side trip to Wilmington and came back for frozen yogurt, and we went from winter to spring, all in one short month. I made new friends, met up with friends of longstanding -- both in BlogLand and real life -- and did a lot of writing and picture taking. Thank you all who visited during the Challenge. I hope you'll visit often. There's a lot of fun yet to come in Buttercupland.
Yesterday was raining and winter coat weather and today is spring. My prayers for all who were affected by floods and storms.
