Love to #ShareMoLove

I know that it's tough to get going some Mondays, but this is a feel-happy start the week cheerful post and I hope you feel the love right through your computer. Thanks to my very good friends at Mohawk Carpet and #CollectiveBias I got to spend some time last Monday with one of my favorite blog buddies, Mo, who stars in the #ShareMoLove campaign. I met Mo during a visit to Puppy Bowl in the winter and I was delighted, thanks to my friends at Mohawk Flooring, that we could spend more time together.

I love all of my blog buddies, but there's something oh so sweet about spending time with Mo.

MO was a guest on "The Better Show" and I learned a lot about carpet, especially Mohawk SmartStrand and Mohawk SmartStrandSilk, which is happily, very pet-friendly carpet. It has built-in soil and stain resistance and can be cleaned easily with water or a little detergent. This is great for those of us with pets, but also for those of us with wet umbrellas, messy shoes and carpet under the dining room table, which seem to attract every food spill possible.

I was delighted with the sample I was given -- dog bone shape -- and shared it with one of my favorite real-life buddies, Elvis. Elvis wasn't as camera friendly as Mo, but he and my dear friend and blog buddy, Betsy, with whom Elvis resides were delighted with the Mohawk SmartStrand pet-friendly carpet.

I took a lot of photos, but Elvis, a very sweet dog, was not especially cooperative posing for the camera. Elvis was much more interested in the carpet and the cute puppy paw ribbon.

Since I don't think I could ever spend too much time with Mo I was delighted to find that Mo is now the star of four webisodes, Make Room for Mo. They are adorable and I am especially enamored with "Romantic Evening." I don't want to give away the plot, but there is a resemblance to one of my favorite Disney movies.

I had a great time visiting "The Better Show," and so enjoyed meeting my blog buddies from #CollectiveBias.

My visit to "The Better Show" and spending time with Mo and my Mohawk buddies -- just the nicest people! -- made my Monday last week. I hope Mo and friends have given you a feel-happy Monday today.

So glad you stopped by to visit. We've got summer in New York today -- 81 balmy degrees -- and it's definitely a day for sitting outside and enjoying the city. I hope it's a sunlit Monday in your part of the world. As always, thanks for visiting and take good care!

Thanks, #DRBigGame, You Made this Football Fan Very Happy!

Truth in journalism...I'm a come-lately football fan. I've been a baseball fan for just about as long as I can remember, but my affection for football developed somewhere in the last decade. That said, I'm a devoted New York Giants fan. I never dreamed I'd meet the players, but #DRBigGame and #CollectiveBias made my dreams come true, not once, but twice. A few weeks ago I had the fun of meeting Rueben Randle and last week I got to meet defensive end, Justin Tuck. Short of the Giants going to the Big Game, it doesn't get much better for this Giants fan.

What a thrill! Justin Tuck was the nicest guy and I'm as happy as I look. It's a football fan dream come true.

The line was long, but for football fans, it was well worth the wait.

I also got to do a little shopping while I was at Duane Reade. I'd already stocked up on my chips and candy, but there are some basics we all need and happily my favorites were at the store.

I made sure to pick up my favorite, Tide.

I got a chuckle at the names of the Old Spice deodorants...Pure Sport and Playmaker. They were perfect for a Big Game weekend.

What a weekend and what memories! Though the game itself was highly one-sided -- definitely would have liked more excitement and back and forth throughout the game -- Seattle was terrific. I am treasuring the memories of meeting two great football players, the fun and excitement on the Boulevard and yes, Puppy Bowl. I've been enjoying visiting the #DRBigGame website, and looking at all of the fun pictures from the Big Game.

Today's a stay inside and keep cozy day. We've got my least favorite weather, sleet and freezing rain. I do have a physical therapy appointment a little later, but otherwise, it's reading, blogging and cooking.

As always, thanks so much for visiting and take good care.

It's Not Every Day the Big Game Comes to New York City...

...Actually it's the first time ever that the Big Game -- football's enormous game -- has come to New York/New Jersey and we are so excited.

Thanks to my good friends at Duane Reade and #Collective Bias I had the opportunity to have two extraordinary Big Game experiences. I thought that January was going to be a quiet month, but it was anything but.

There weren't many things that could have gotten me out of my warm house last Wednesday, but the invitation to be part of the Big Game festivities just a few subway stops away at Times Square got me bundled up and out the door. I had the opportunity to meet Rueben Randle of my beloved NY Giants. No, the Giants aren't in the Big Game this year, but I have every faith that next year beckons.

I was as happy as I look and Rueben Randle could not have been nicer.

While I was at the beautiful store I spent some time picking snacks for the Big Game day. It was not an easy choice, there were so many goodies to choose from.

My eye went to the candy, but the view of Times Square in the background was fabulous, too!

Mars is one of the sponsors of the Big Game and Snickers is one of my all-time favorite candy bars. My big problem was choosing which one to have on hand for snacking on Sunday -- classic, almond or dark chocolate. Yes, you know the answer to that problem. I chose all three kinds of delicious Snickers. Can't have too many snacks -- or too many Snickers! --for the Big Game.

We've really got Big Game excitement in New York City and I am so happy to be part of the football fun. Can't thank my Duane Reade friends enough for this opportunity. One way to share in the fun is to go to the #DRBigGame website for great pictures of all of the excitement. I'll be posting more of my pictures there in the next few days. It's a terrific way to be part of the experience. There's even more excitement to come, but that's a post for another day.

As always, thanks for visiting. Take good care and keep warm!

I'm Dreaming of a Duane Reade Holiday #DRHoliday #shop #cbias

I've got a lot of dreams for this season. Foremost of which is to spend time with my favorite people. To make that happen in a leisurely -- no last minute mad dashes to crowded stores -- I've begun my shopping and I'm happy to report I'm moving ahead. I like giving photo gifts and I was delighted to find that there are wonderful opportunities at my local Duane Reade. Duane Reade Holiday made it easy-peasy to create a photo mug in less than fifteen minutes.

Between grocery shopping and a quick trip to the fruit and veggie market I created a personalized gift.

I settled down in the comfy chair and followed the directions.

There are a lot of gifts to choose from. I knew I wanted a gift for a dear friend. She has a long commute and loves her coffee in the car. I was hoping to find a fun travel mug.

I found the commuter mug I was looking for. There were lots of fun gifts to choose from and all it took was a few clicks. I was delighted that the prices were reasonable.

I loaded my photos from my memory card -- these pictures are cell phone shots -- and it took less than a minute for my pictures to appear.

I chose the photo I wanted to use and I cropped the picture with just a couple of clicks. I loved working on the big screen.

A sort-of-selfie. I'm delighted to have made this gift with lots of time to spare. I will be getting an email in the next few days when the mug is ready and I can pick it up.

I'm pleased at how quick and easy my gift making was. I didn't time it, but I don't think it took more than fifteen minutes -- if that long -- to create the commuter mug. The instructions were clear and I had a good time looking through my pictures to find just the right photo. And did I say how much I loved working on the big screen. I know I did, but it was such a treat.

It turned to winter on Saturday night which really brought home that this is the Chanukah and Christmas season. I'm enjoying my cozy apartment and I did not like leaving for a dental appointment this afternoon. The temperature was a relatively balmy thirty three degrees which is warmer than a lot of places around the country, but still cold. So glad I'm in two closed toe shoes.

Please keep warm and cozy. I'm so glad you stopped by to visit and take good care of yourself.

It Wouldn't Be Halloween Without a Costume #DRLegCandy #shop #cbias

I'm a Halloween fan. I loved Halloween growing up and would start thinking about my costume months before the holiday. In the last few years I've been less involved, but I made sure I had candy in the office and Pepe had his Halloween costume, a purple Halloween sweater. Since I won't be working late this year, as in almost every year past, I decided to plan a costume. I wanted something I could put together out of most things I already owned and came up with the idea of dressing as a Dance Hall Diva, with a frilly skirt and shawl. The one thing I needed to really make my costume was fun hosiery, maybe even Fishnets. As with so many things I turned to Duane Reade (DR), my favorite drugstore and often my first shopping stop for many items.

Besides lots of Halloween supplies...

I hit the jackpot with DR hosiery. I wanted something fun, lively and not wildly expensive. I also wanted hosiery that was comfortable. I am planning to wear my costume for candy distribution in my building that goes on for several hours, starting with little ones around 5:00 P.M. and older kids coming around until 8:00 P.M. There were lots of fun patterns...

It's a tough choice...

 Polka Dots caught my eye...

But then I saw these great chevrons...

It was a very tough pick. I liked the polka dots, chevrons, lace and several others. I couldn't pick just one pair of DR Legwear, and happily I didn't have to. Right now I'm leaning to these incredibly fun tights for my costume...

This is my Dance Hall Diva Halloween costume.

But I've got two more weeks to think about which pair is my favorite for Halloween, and I've got fun hosiery for all winter. My next project is buying a black skirt, so I can show off all of my #DRLegCandy. Stop by the the Duane Reade Facebook contest page to learn about the Duane Reade Boo-tiful Legs Contest. You have the opportunity to show off your Boo-tiful legs in #DRLegCandy for a great prize. The contest opens today and runs through November 3.

Does anyone else wear a costume for Halloween? What are your Halloween plans this year?

Hope you're having a great Sunday! As always, thanks for visiting and take good care of yourself.
