I haven't seen the movie of the summer, Barbie, yet and I'm not sure when/if I will see it. But since pink is my favorite color -- pink jacket, pink rain slicker and more pink shirts than I can count -- I've fully embraced all the pink Barbie items I've seen around.
I rarely, if ever, get bright pink nail polish, but yesterday I jumped -- literally -- into Barbie World and painted my toes as Barbie as I could find. It's another step into wedding preparation, and no, I haven't been holding out on my Buttercupland friends and planning a secret wedding. But next week my beautiful goddaughter J is getting married and I've got a list of pre-wedding errands for the godmother of the bride. I've never seen that as a title, but I'm happily owning it. Next on my list is a manicure next week and while I'm thinking of a much more subtle pink, I may just get totally carried away and go totally Barbie, head to toe.
On a very different note, I'm coping okay with my "shoulder" issue. The X-ray has been read and thankfully, there's nothing hyper-alarming. Change and deterioration jump out of the report, but tumor (always my worry) doesn't. After a little time spent looking up the terms, it doesn't look worse than my lower spine, just a different place that needs attention. I've got my physical therapy evaluation scheduled for later in August, after I'm back from the wedding. It will take a lot more than some pesky discs to keep me from this wedding.
Extreme heat has finally arrived in New York City and I'm taking it easy and staying (mostly) indoors today. It's a perfect day to declutter, drink iced coffee and read. What are your plans for the day?

Cute toes! I've never been much of a 'pinkie', but applaud this nod to all things Barbie. No, I won't be buying tickets to the movie, but might be tempted to watch Oppenheimer again.

Love the nail polish. I just got a pedicure and for some reason chose about the same color... totally pink. And, I wasn't even thinking of Barbie, just wanting to be a little daring!
Summer is the time I paint my toenails. I wear a lot of sandals and flip flops, I'n staying in and keeping cool too but they say the expected rain tonight will cool us down. In the 79's by Sunday! Do take care in the heat!
Have a great time at the wedding! I love the color of the nail polish, but I don't plan on seeing the Barbie movie. Sorry to hear about your shoulder issues, but glad that the x rays don't show something serious like a tumor. I deal with shoulder issues too. Not fun. Have a good week!
I love your Barbie pinks! I am not going to see the movie but I do love Barbie and always have. How exciting for you to be honored at your god daughters wedding. I know you will share some photos too. Your are pretty in pink!
