Slow Blog Start Saturday

Looking north, Union Square

I've been back from Puerto Rico for a week and I'm sad to report that this is my first blog post.  I've done errands, been out and about the city, gotten quite a few things done in the apartment, but I've spent very little time at the computer. I've composed any number of posts in my mind, but none of them made the jump to Buttercupland. Does anyone else have times like this? Is there anyone who doesn't?

One thing I did do was go to an author's lunch last week. I've become Facebook friends with Marilyn Simon Rothstein, the author of three very funny novels. I found that she was speaking in New York City and I would be able to attend and signed up immediately. Marilyn was as nice and as funny in person as I expected and the lunch was a delight. I'm still getting used to attending events "in person" and it's something I don't think I'll ever take for granted again.

The very talented and delightful author, Marilyn Simon Rothstein

Amazingly January -- and a very mild January -- is coming to an end. Tomorrow -- now that I'm back on track -- I'll be posting Pink Saturday in Old San Juan. While it's still January I'll be posting the blogaversary giveaway and the preparation for February. Yes, No-Spending February is right around the corner, and not a minute too soon.

As ever, thanks for visiting and thanks for being part of Buttercupland.

Hi Carol! What fun to attend an event and meet a favorite author. I will have to look for some of her books. Glad you are back safely from Puerto Rico. The pictures you shared on FB were splendid. I am still walking and keeping track of my steps and miles although I don't post much on FB. I plan to have a grand tally for January sometime next week! See you again soon!

Glad to see you are back home. It does take awhile after being away to get back to normal again. How nice to attend an author's luncheon. I've never met an author of the books I read in person. You have milder weather there than we do in Ohio. Enjoy !

Nice to see this post, Carol, and read that you are home and catching up on your NYC life and the author luncheon sounded like fun, just like the author’s books. It always takes time to get back to your routine and sometimes blogging takes a back seat to lifd, which is as it should be. I am sure you will share more of your getaway in future posts.

Glad you had a nice time and that you are home now. I love meeting authors too.
