Queen Elizabeth II, 1926-2022
This is not the post I planned to write today and one I hoped never to write. But to paraphrase Chaucer, time and tide move on and today I, and millions of others, mourn a woman whose life of honor and service we shall not see again.
To the memory of a great woman and a life well lived,
my deepest gratitude.

I somehow thought that I would go before she did. She will be sorely missed. I’m not sure the world realizes yet how much.
My heart is with the family ~
Truly the end of an Era
Amen. Thank you and I totally agree. I think that even though we are Americans, many of us feel like she was our queen too. The world lost a good one today. Thanks for this post.
She was definitely part of "The Greatest Generation"! She was an amazing woman for sure.
96, what a wonderful life she lived. She will be missed! RIP Queen Elizabeth!
Toasting with your the marvelous life of Queen Elizabeth.
She was loved by many. And won't soon be forgotten. She was part of our lives for many years. Her son has a ways to go to top her.
Thank you for this post, Carol.
An incredible loss for our country and the finest example I will ever witness of service and dignity, with a Paddington Bear sense of humour! Both my daughters have already been to Buckingham Palace last night, it seems that's what people want to do.

Oh Buttercup I agree, well stated.
Well said! Thank you. V.
We all feel the same, Carol, as the late queen was seemingly always a constant in our lives and now no longer is there. Her passing, while not unexpected in view of recent health concerns, is still so very sad as in a way, she almost seemed immortal.
No, we will not see her like again. I was so sad when I heard the news --she's always been there. So consistent, so steady. It was like she would live forever. I'll write about her before her funeral. Such an impact on me.
