Last sunset in Maine, Wednesday night
Definitely some pink in the picture
I was reminded, once again, that when I get back from a longish -- over a week -- trip away from New York I need at least a few days to get reoriented to my regular daily life. I slipped back pretty easily after my week in Colorado in June, but it's taken me a little longer after getting back from Maine on Thursday.
Fortunately, I don't like missing Pink Saturday, and that got me back to blogging. I've still got a number of pictures from Maine I want to share as well as a post on my visit to Lower Manhattan on Friday and a post on my new love of this summer, hydrangeas. I'm head over heels for hydrangeas and they deserve an entire post that's all hydrangeas.
I came home to a big surprise that Pep had for me and he will be featured tomorrow for Monkey Monday. I hope all of Pep's friends will stop by to see his latest monkey business.
I got back into my New York State of Mind with a visit to the Metropolitan Museum to see a retrospective by Alice Neel. Happily a friend reminded me that today was the last day of the show, and we arrived when the museum opened. It was still crowded, but I'm sure a less crowded than later in the day. It's a good reminder that it's time to start planning again for museum visits. No complaints about the crowds. I'm so glad to see people out and about and enjoying the treasures of New York City.
Ninth Avenue during the Depression by Alice Neel
As ever, thanks for visiting and take good care.

Glad you are safely back and that you had a nice trip. Maine is such a beautiful state. It is on my "bucket list" to visit there one day. Have a good week. See you again soon.
I have always wanted to visit Maine. I look forward to more posts about your trips and also Pep’s monkey business!!!🙊
Vacations are wonderful, but it's always great to be back home. I love hydrangeas too. I'm looking forward to their post. You have a super day, hugs, Edna B.
If I ever get a chance to visit or live in Maine, I am sure I would never want to come back to NYC (grin). Oh oh on Pepe...has he been naughty? smiles
P.S. I really like your new look here, smiles.
Girl, you make me want to get some traveling in soon:) Enjoy your day and week ahead dear friend, HUGS!
Your comment on a visit to the Met reminded me of a show that is there now called The New Woman Behind the Camera and one which I plan on seeing. Originally, I was planning NYC trip, but then learned the exhibit will be moving to the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC. Unlike in NYC, there is no admission charge, no pre-registered time slots, and a lot more free museums there, so my decision became easier.
I know what you mean about re-entry. It's tougher than it would seem.
I don't know if you got my email but I got home last night and in my mail were the books I won from your blog! Thank you! They both look like great fun and the timing couldn't be better! Happy week and thank you again!
That shot of the sunset is spectacular. Love it.
