No, You're Not Hallucinating...

...Buttercupland is celebrating Social Media Spirit Week

I don't remember celebrating Spirit Week any time during my school career, but I've enjoyed the pictures of crazy socks, Dr. Seuss hats and pajama days that friends have shared on Facebook. This week I learned of Social Media Spirit Week. I missed pajama day and crazy sock day, but I'm catching up with Christmas in March day. I still had a few holiday decoration on the mantel -- the Russian nesting dolls live there year round -- and all the time in the world to rearrange them and find the arrangement I liked the best.

While I've been writing, tonight's (and several night's) dinner was cooking in the air fryer. Tonight is grilled chicken breast and my new favorite veggie, grilled garlic carrots. There's no need to worry about using too much garlic. The aroma is great and it's comforting to know that I've got dinner already prepared at 3:45 in the afternoon. One of my commitments is to eat healthy every day, and with a few glitches I've been succeeding. I'm using the fresh food and saving my stockpile of dried beans, tomato sauce and canned tuna for a later time. If I don't get to them during these Black Swan Days, I will have to buy a lot fewer groceries in the months to come.

I know I've promised a book post, but I've had a tough time putting it together. My concentration is fine for getting day-to-day things done, but my serious concentration just isn't there. I'm not at all bored and have been keeping busy. I will be doing a post shortly about my new daily schedule. Any new activities that you have added?

As ever, thanks for visiting and take good care of yourself. Much love and wash your hands!

The past week or so, a lot of my daytime activities have included contacting people by phone calls, emails, texts. This included neighbors here at the mill apts and friends and neighbors from our former residence states of NJ and VA. I've also started writing the notes on Easter cards to be mailed and distributed to apt neighbors. These activities, plus the usual ones of laundry, (some) cleaning and walks downtown have kept me busy. Self-isolation is not an uncomfortable environment for me, so far, and I still have books to read and shows to binge on. I liked the Christmas in March display in this post, BC. I still have snowmen displayed on bookshelves.

I like your decorations. We have a Christmas tree up in the family room. We like the lights. I plug them in every night. They cheer us up.

Love,
Janie Junebug

I have not heard of Spirit Week, but love your Russian dolls. I think a lot of us have concentration problems now, because our minds are so filled with anxiety and stress.

I have not heard of Spirit Week, oh and I have a Russian doll (aren't they just the cutest? I love "unwrapping" them and stacking them next to each other.)

Waving to Pep and friends, wink. smiles

How fun!!
I missed this, darn!

Busy in the house, spent time on our deck today and trying to
navigate working from home without my students.

Never heard of Spirit Week, but it sounds like fun. I've been trying to use this time of staying at home to try and catch up on my long list of chores and projects that keeps growing longer because I keep procrastinating. I've challenged myself to tackle at least one item on the list a day. So far so good.

We, too, have been eating a good home-cooked healthy meal each day in addition to our breakfast. We try to eat the meal mid-afternoon. Then we have a decent snack later on.
Our days stay very busy, too. There is so much to do around here - - regular work, projects, hobbies, and books to read.
We have had a couple of pretty days with sunshine so have gotten outside to work in the yard - - - toooo much to do out there as the weeds all start growing in spring!
Thanks for the update!

Happy Sprit wee! It's a great time for us all to keep our Spirits up. The more I hear about air fryers, the more I want one. I read a lot, but would find it hard to do a post about all the good books I've read, but I'm thankful for them. They take me away from the goings on right now. They are my Calgon taje me away.

I do like your Russian Dolls … I changed some of our decorations and ornaments recently to more of a Spring look, may get the Easter Bunnies out soon :)

Take care

All the best Jan

I've not heard about Spirit Week … but will be investiGoogling in short order! Garlic carrots sound wonderful right about now; I wonder if they might be done in the InstantPot as well.
