J is (Not) for Japanese Coffee Makers

This morning's "I" post got me to thinking about Japanese coffee makers, about which I know nothing. I thought it would be a good idea to actually see the items I had looked at on-line. After a visit to my "K" site -- to be revealed tomorrow -- I walked over to Bowery Kitchen Supplies at Chelsea Market to do a little coffee maker shopping/looking. I'm going to write about Chelsea Market again -- so much to see and enjoy in a one block chock full of great food stores and restaurants -- but this post focuses on coffee makers. 





Bowery Kitchen Supplies is large, well stocked and has everything I need for cooking and lots of things I don't really need, but would like very much.

 

I found the coffee supply section quickly and loved these ceramic filters. I've been using my plastic Melita filter since 1975 and it's served me fine. These were more attractive, but unless I find some data that they will make a better cup of coffee I'm sticking with the one I have. I do like the look very much.
 

I also found these Italian espresso makers. I've not been an espresso fan, but I had an experience today that is making me rethink my opinion of espresso. These were a temptation, too. But I found none of the Japanese coffee makers that I've seen in my on-line looking.
 

But I did find these beautifully designed serving utensils and they definitely caught my attention. These pieces and the many other things I found at Chelsea Market will bring me back for at least one return visit soon. 

I was beginning to lose hope that I would find a better/equal iced coffee than City of Saints, but my experience today made me realize there is a lot of coffee out there and some of it will be very, very good. I've got my inspiration back. Let's Go "K!"
