Street Fair Pink Saturday

Yesterday was a somber day in Buttercupland, but today we're going to have some Pink Saturday fun. One of the spring and summer fun activities in New York is going to street fairs. There are things to buy, all kinds of fun and caloric foods -- I gain weight just looking -- and entertainment. A few weeks ago I went to my first street fair of this season. I stepped out to do a few errands, walked just a block from my house and found myself in street fair country. I did allow myself one of the treats, but my focus was on all things fun and pink.

There were lots of scarves for sale, but the pink ones caught my eye.

There were trays of costume jewelry....

...more jewelry, and something that was new to me, toe thongs.

The one food treat I did indulge in was for one of my all-time favorite desserts, the cannoli. with its sweet and delicious ricotta filling. I find these pastries so hard to resist, and this time I didn't resist.

These were outstanding, and definitely worth a trip to Brooklyn. Fortunato Brothers, thank you for fabulous cannoli.

It's a beautiful not-quite summer day today. I'm looking forward to spending the afternoon at a barbecue with friends in Westchester. There's lots of catching up to do, and I know it will be a great afternoon. I hope you've got a fun day planned, too.

As always, thanks for visiting. Take good care and have a pretty-in-pink Saturday.

I just came in from a trip to my favorite bakery and they had cannoli's today too. I settled instead for an apple fritter. Hard choice to make, but it's good too.

The street fair looks like fun.

Sounds like you have a fun evening ahead. We have rain, rain, rain today so we are hanging inside.

Enjoy!

Wouldn't those toe thongs be great for a beach wedding or a cruise? And they take virtually no room in a suitcase!

'Glad to hear you went for the cannoli!
Simple pleasures, yes?

Hugs,

I would love to own those scarves, and the jewelry, and a cannoli! But I'm not so sure about a toe thong...

Yum! Cannolis! Delicious! Of course, I love the color pink. A photo of me today would fit well with your blog.:-) That's the color I'm wearing.

Oh my--a Brooklyn cannoli! The best! I can't find them here so I'm learning how to make my own.

Yum! Love cannoli, and it is so hard to come by around here.
I would have indulged, as well.

I just recently saw a pair of footless sandals... or 'toe thongs'. Hmmm.... if I'm going barefoot, I will probably not bother with toe thongs****smile***.

Have a lovely day.

Dear Carol, I so enjoy your pink days! They brighten my own days here in Missouri. I've been using the 2nd book in "The Artist's Way" series, which is "Finding Water." In it, Julia Cameron writes a lot about Central Park in New York City and other places nearby and I find myself so wanting to go to your metropolis and just walk and walk and take in the life of the city. Your blog does that for me too. Thank you. Peace.
